Most, but not all, of these sites were created with Tumblr, a dead-simple two-year-old blogging tool that has swung open the publishing industry for anyone with a gift for snark and lots of extra hours to kill. Tumblr includes several stylish themes that obviate the need for designing anything yourself, and it comes prepackaged with templates for different kinds of posts—it makes your photos look different from your videos, which in turn look different from quotes you pull from other sites, etc. In other words, Tumblr lets you create a great-looking blog in two minutes flat.

Tip: Post photosets from your iPhone
With the new iPhone OS 3.0, you can attach multiple photos to an email message from your Camera Roll. Tap the action-arrow button, select up to 5 photos, then tap Share.
Email them to Tumblr and we’ll automatically create a photoset.

On taking over the world, and other things…
It’s been a month of milestones for Tumblr, and we thought it would be a good time to stop and say: Thank you to everyone for making this possible.
We can still remember watching your new posts come in one-by-one the day we launched. Now we’re waiting for five new servers to arrive to help us handle the 330 million (that’s 0.3 billion!!) hits and 20 million new posts we’re projecting for August.
More than anything, you continue to blow us away with the amazing things you do with Tumblr.
As our team gets bigger (we’re up to 9 people!), we promise we’re as committed as ever to making Tumblr the greatest place for everyone in the world to share the stuff they love and create.

Reblog This Concert: The Day After
You came! You saw! You conquered! Big sweaty hugs to the 350 Tumblr people that came out to the show last night.
The bands were incredible, the DJs were gnarly, and the entire room had an amazing vibe that couldn’t be stopped. To know that this concert highlighted just a small taste of the tons of talented people on Tumblr is truly inspiring. We can’t wait to do this again.
Thanks to everyone who made this possible—it truly was an amazing night!
