As November approaches, many of us are starting to plan for the holidays, vacations, and/or how to bring in the New Year.  Before we get seasonally busy, we wanted to take the time to remind Pythonistas of a few PyCon deadlines and upcoming launches!

Launches Registration for the 2019 conference will launch in early November! The first 800 registrations are sold at an early bird rate: Corporate tickets will start at $550 USDHobbyist tickets will start at $350 USDStudent tickets will start at $100 USD

The PyCon conference prides itself on being affordable. However, registration is only one of several expenses an attendee must incur, and it’s likely the smallest one. Flying, whether halfway around the world or from a few hundred miles away, is more expensive. Staying in a hotel for a few days is also more expensive. All together, the cost of attending a conference can become prohibitively expensive. That’s where PyCon's Financial Aid program comes in. We’re opening applications for Financial Aid today, and we’ll be accepting them through February 12, 2019.

PyCon is known around the world as the Python community’s premier event, attracting people from 39 countries. Outside of the main track of talks, PyCon is home to a growing number of events such as Young Coders, the Education Summit, Language Summit, Poster Session, and most recently the PyCon Charlas. The conference strives to be globally representative by promoting diversity and inclusion through these additional events and outreach programs. Our community works to approach these goals year on year. While we regularly receive requests to add events to PyCon, we have not had an established process for accepting and evaluating the community’s suggestions. By introducing the PyCon Hatchery Program in 2018, we took an initial step to introduce a long term process for evolving PyCon.
