Wood beautifully carved and finished. Only concern is that the slate inset is not fastened or sealed into position. I can try to be careful but if a guest or family member is helping to clean up, I will have to remember to advise them that the slate is not fastened in. If it were to fall on my granite counters, stainless steel sink or tile floors, I would be left with a lovely (and quite pricey) cracker holder and no slate cheese slicing surface.

This is such a unique piece. I have it out on my counter for now. It makes me happy looking at it. Quick shipping, too. The slate insert sticks up slightly from its groove to make removing it for cleaning easier. Great feature! Thanks!
