Mint and its relatives, thyme, oregano and Melissa are weeds. They will take over and you can spend years trying to get them out of your yard. Dill is, too. It self seeds. If you love it, plant it, but if you find too much dill really unpleasant, stay away.
I like Melissa. I think it's called Lemon Balm. It's a milder than mint, makes a great caffeine-free tea and adds a nice twist when used in place of mint or lemon. In tabooley, it's sublime.

I love mint and won't mind if it spreads all over the place. we Indians use it in chutneys and savory yogurt. you need a lot of mint for making chutney. I used to have a pot of mint but lost it in the beginning of this year due to ridiculously low temperature. I forgot to bring it inside. :( I used to dry its leaves and then crush them and use it in yogurt.

I love that wallpaper - it's so smashing with those red mirrors!

Thanks Douglastommie! Liberace really perks up the place.
Love your stories Becky. Today you made me realize I am a complete hypocrite. I've never embraced sticking things on my fridge, and I blame my Mom because she didn't either. She didn't like clutter. BUT I love "reading" the fridge when I visit friends and family. It's like they've curated a little gallery of what's important in their life story.
Today my glass front fridge tells a different story...like "what's for dinner?" Hmmm, maybe Mom would have considered this a different kind of visual clutter!?
