About this Author
Josh Koehn is the assistant metro editor for the San Francisco Chronicle, helping to lead the newspaper’s breaking news team. Before coming to The Chronicle, he spent seven years as an investigative reporter and editor for Metro, Silicon Valley’s weekly newspaper. Other stops along the way to The Chronicle include the San Mateo Daily Journal, the Newton Daily News (Iowa) and the Gilroy Dispatch. A Midwesterner who moved to California shortly before the tech bubble burst, Koehn received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis. His stories have been honored by the California Newspaper Publishers Association, the Northern California Society of Professional Journalists and the Association of Alternative Newsmedia.
