Robert Morast
Senior Arts & Entertainment Editor
Houston Chronicle
About this Author
A North Dakota native raised on a ranch by true cowboys, Robert Morast has been The San Francisco Chronicle's senior editor of arts and entertainment since the start of 2019, preceded by stints at the Houston Chronicle, Arizona State University, the Virginian-Pilot, the Forum, the Argus Leader and the ProRodeo Sports News. Though he's a career journalist focused on the coverage and analysis of popular culture, he's also a writer who co-authored the horror film "The Girl in the Photographs," which was produced by genre master Wes Craven and was an official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival. When he's not writing, Morast enjoys reading about clairvoyance, studying the dissonant beauty of godheadSilo recordings and wondering why he doesn't live on a beach.
