I’ve been through many Markdown editors. Since my previous favorite is dead (no updates in years, no Apple Silicon version) I decided to go looking again. After playing with a few of the latest generation I settled on Dinkus. I am so happy with it. Smooth and intuitive. Solid as a rock (well.. the support for Grammarly has issues). It supports all the weird Markdown variants I’ve tried. I particularly love its support for images.

Developer Response
Thanks Haemish,Appreciate the kind words. I am currently looking into the Grammarly issue. Hopefully there is something I can do on the Dinkus side.

Antisimplistic
The developer is a stickler for detail and brings a fresh approach to stand alone markdown editors. Expect a well built, actively developed and supported piece of software with opinionated design.

Glad you like it. And I hope you also like the opinionated updates!

A markdown editor MUST default to viewing files as plain text (that’s the whole point of markdown), and it MUST show files in both text and preview without opening the same file twice. Also, I HATE the typewriter mode, which is always turned on by default. This app seems to be made for people who shouldn’t be using markdown.

Hi _Andy_s_,Thank you for taking the time to offer a review.Dinkus is a visual editor (noted in the description as "Edit Markdown visually in an intuitive WYSIWYG interface"). Which means there is typically no need for separate code and preview panes, as the document is essentially an editable preview. Which is my I must respectfully disagree that it should open in the source view (but perhaps it could be an option).I would also push back on your suggestion that viewing plain text is the "whole point of markdown". Markdown is plain text, sure, as are may file types. But you aren't obliged to always view it that way--it's just an option.Sorry you don't like typewriter mode. I consider it an essential feature for editing now, but I recognise that not everyone will. In the next version I will persist the typewriter toggle so you need only click it (or press cmd+T) once. Will
