Tyme is a popular, legally compliant time-tracking tool for teams, freelancers, and self-employed professionals. Tyme lets you track your working hours for clients, projects, and tasks. You always have a clear overview of project performance, deadlines, and workload.
With a clear focus on design and aesthetics, Tyme stands out from the crowd of time tracking apps. The goal: to make the stressful daily task of time tracking more enjoyable for you and your team. GDPR-compliant and legally compliant.
We’re constantly improving Tyme and gradually adding new features.
1. Always Synced Across All Devices
Tyme comes as a package for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and as a web version. Your subscription automatically unlocks Tyme for all your devices.
2. Everything at a Glance
The interface is designed to give you an overview of your tracked time, projects, budgets, and deadlines at all times. Unlogged time is displayed. Running timers are always visible and can be started or stopped using shortcuts without opening Tyme.
3. Visualized Data
The detailed statistics give you an overview of your personal workload and that of your team. They show booked hours, current revenue, and overtime and undertime hours. Breaks are automatically tracked.
4. Widgets and Live Activities
The widgets and live activities help you keep track of the hours logged for the day, week, or month at any time. You can also always see whether a timer is still running and when your workday ends.
5. Sync & Calendar Integration
Tyme automatically syncs your data across all your devices and with your team. Thanks to calendar integration, you can view your time entries as calendar entries and edit them directly.
6. Reminders
Did you forget to start the timer? Is a deadline coming up? Time for lunch? Have you reached your daily work hours? Did you forget to log your time? Use Tyme’s helpful reminders.
7. Task Types
In addition to work hours, track travel expenses, other expenses, fixed amounts, flat rates, vacation time, and absences.
8. Export & Import
You can export your tracked time as legally compliant PDF timesheets and project reports, or as CSV or JSON. If you want to bring in data from other apps, Tyme offers a CSV importer and various other importers.
9. Plugins
Is Tyme just one part of your workflow? Take advantage of its many plugins, for example for invoicing or data import, and build a custom workflow with the tools you prefer.
10. Tyme MCP Server
Tyme has its own MCP server. AI assistants can communicate directly with your time tracking data. You ask a question, the assistant checks your time tracking, and responds. For example, you can ask:
“How busy is my team this week?”
“Which project has the most hours so far?”
“Are there any team members who haven’t logged any hours this week yet?”
“Create this quote as a project in Tyme.”
11. Shortcuts & Automations
With over 20 different shortcuts, you can automate your to-dos. Manage your projects and tasks, retrieve your Tyme data, and share it with other apps.
12. Pricing
Tyme is available as a subscription. You can choose between a monthly and an annual subscription. Before you decide, you can try Tyme for 14 days. The subscription unlocks Tyme for your Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and browser.

THE Best Time Tracking App
The Builder....
I've used quite a few time tracking apps over the years, but none of them have compared to this app. And now, with the advent of version 3 coming out, it's even better than before. Syncing on ALL platforms is seamless, and one of the best in the business. The interface is not just beautiful, but also very functional and intuitive. I will admit that I had to take a few minutes to learn how to start and stop tasks, along with the new interface, but it now works even better than before. It now is my go-to app when I want to see at a glance just how much time I'm actually focused on tasks during the course of not just today, but on previous days. And, with a "hidden" feature in the Preferences area of taking breaks after whatever time you specify, it now sends you those notifications with no problems.I HIGHLY recommend this app, and compared with so many other time tracking apps, this one is definitely worth the money!

Thank you. Mission accomplishes 👍
Simple, comprehensive cross-platform time tracking with excellent customer support

I settled on Tyme for tracking my billable hours after trying out multiple other time trackers. The cross-platform sync between iOS, Mac and apple watch work well and allow me to capture time wherever I may be. The interface takes a little time to get used to if you are coming from other time tracking apps, but that seems to me to be more the fault of other apps' clunky interfaces, in my experience. Since moving to Tyme 3, I've been happy with the additions in the export function. One of the best things about Tyme is the developer. I've been using Tyme for about 4 years and have had a few questions about Tyme during that time. I have always received a helpful response within 24 hours from the developer himself.

Good—Could be Better

Paid version going on 4 years—As a small creative agency, it’s my go-to for billing time on client projects, so it works. But like most things, you can make everyone happy. Understand that I’m coming from a much more expensive system that was flawless in my industry. Tyme is a little clunky in terms of task management and being able to add descriptions to the time entries. Granted, it can be done, but it’s not as simple as other software, and not as easy to quickly view the history of an entire project—just sayin. It would also be incredibly helpful to have a way to set custom reminders on tasks (I currently use Apple Reminders because I can pick my own date and time for the reminders—very important) so I’m not using Tyme exclusively for my tasks. But at the end of the day, it keeps track of time spent on projects, the price is excellent for the same functionality as the expensive apps, and I guess that’s why I use it. There just aren’t enough affordable options that do what Tyme does.
Simple, sleak, with amazing extendability

I've used this app off-and-on for nearly 10 years: first as an independent videographer for a couple years, and then after a 3-year law school hiatus I picked it up again for tracking billable hours in my law practice. It's been a dependable workhorse, with beautiful and easy to use apps on MacOS, iOS, iPadOS, and WatchOS, each with excellent widgets/complications.Lately I augment it with Timing for automatic timetracking whenever I'm at my computer. Unfortunately there isn't an official sync plugin for Timing to Tyme, but I was able to piece together Apple Shortcuts that keep Tyme in sync with Timing and Things. Big kudos for the robust Apple Shortcuts integration.TL;DR: come for a simple dependable time tracking app, stay first for the gorgeous UI across all platforms with surprising extendability thanks to Shortcuts.
- Fixed an issue with cluster tracked projects and the calendar sync.
- Fixed "billing_state" for all MCP tools
