Murder, mayhem, and mystery take center stage in this crime-solving follow-up to The Case of the Golden Idol. Examine scenes depicting strange mishaps, study suspects’ thoughts and belongings, and deduce what happened—whether it’s to a body found in a sewage pipe or a downed caretaker at an aviary.
What we love: The increasingly odd plot. What begins as a scientist’s seemingly accidental death quickly spirals into sinister wellness cults, corporate skullduggery…and worse. The twists are outlandish but somehow fit perfectly into an ever-growing chain of events that leads to even more compelling cases to solve.
Quick tip: Figuring out how the prisoner escaped can be a real stumper, but the answer’s hidden subtly in his cell. Read the bolded parts of his friend’s letter, then take another look at that colorful poster on the wall. Each of the cartoons represents a word that’ll lead you to the answer.
Meet the creator: Latvian brothers Andrejs and Ernests Kļaviņš—also known as Color Gray Games—took the indie games industry by storm with their debut, The Case of the Golden Idol. It was named one of the best games of 2022 by multiple publications, including The Guardian and The New Yorker.
