Everyone of all ages is welcome! BAY-Peace Outside! is open to youth, community members, professionals, movement leaders, families, and anyone looking to connect through nature and community.

Is there a cost to attend?

BAY-Peace Outside! is donation-based. We invite you to contribute at a level that feels meaningful to you. Every donation directly supports BAY-Peace's youth leadership, healing justice, and arts programs.

Do I need hiking experience?

Not at all! Our hikes are designed to be welcoming and accessible for a variety of experience levels. Each event will include information about the trail difficulty so you know what to expect.

We recommend bringing: Comfortable walking shoes. Water bottle/ Sunscreen and/or a hat. A light snack (BP will offer water bottles + light snacks). Layers for changing weather. Your curiosity and community spirit

What if I need a ride?

Let us know when you RSVP! We'll do our best to coordinate carpools between participants who can offer rides and those who need transportation.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely! We encourage you to invite friends, family members, coworkers, and fellow community members. Building community is at the heart of BAY-Peace Outside!

Are the hikes accessible?

Lake Chabot is highly accessibly. We'll share trail information including distance, terrain, elevation, and accessibility for each monthly hike. During registration, you can also let us know about any accessibility needs so we can do our best to support you.

What happens if it rains?

Safety comes first. If weather conditions make a hike unsafe, we'll notify everyone by email and/or text with any schedule changes or a rescheduled date.

Lake Chabot: YES. Please check each event listing, as pet policies vary depending on the park or trail. If dogs are permitted, they must remain leashed and under their owner's control at all times.

How often do you meet?

BAY-Peace Outside! meets once a month, every 3rd Sunday of each month from August 2026 through June 2027, at different trails throughout the Bay Area.

How can I support BAY-Peace Outside?

There are lots of ways to help: Sponsor us. Attend a hike. Make a donation. Invite a friend or coworker. Offer a carpool. Volunteer at future hikes. Share our events on social media. Introduce us to organizations that may want to participate or sponsor the program.
