My mission is fueled by the turning point where I realized emotional mastery is a leadership skill. I reached that point as an Executive Director. I had the title, the respect and the results, and I watched what unresolved pressure does to people and to the work around them. Most leadership development still treats emotional intelligence as a soft extra, something for an away day. In mediation I see the cost of that every month. A single leader who cannot hold a difficult conversation steadily can keep a whole team in low-level conflict for a year. The skills are learnable. Preparing for a hard conversation instead of avoiding it. Staying steady when someone reacts. Holding a person accountable without damaging the relationship. Knowing your own triggers so they do not become the team's weather. These are the skills I build in leadership training, and they are the ones that make mediation less necessary in the first place. Developing emotional intelligence as a core leadership competency for executives and emerging leaders is not the soft side of performance. It is where performance starts. #Leadership #EmotionalIntelligence #LeadershipDevelopment

The third stage of every workplace mediation I run is creating actionable resolution protocols. In plain language: a written agreement. The detail that matters is who writes it. When a manager hands two people a list of expectations after a dispute, it reads as a verdict. People comply with verdicts until the pressure comes off, and then they drift back. When the two people write the agreement themselves, in their own words, the commitments are theirs. How they will raise a problem next time. How they will split the work they were fighting over. What they will do when one of them feels slighted. My job in that stage is to keep the language specific. "We will communicate better" is not an agreement. "We will raise a concern with each other within two working days, in person, before involving anyone else" is. Then I check in afterwards, with the people involved and with the leader who asked for the mediation, to see what is holding. Faster resolutions: end the conflict and get back to work. That only happens when the agreement survives the first bad week. #WorkplaceMediation #Leadership #EmployeeRelations #ConflictResolution

Captain Thomas Brown, CEO of Shoreline Ltd., described the problem better than I could: "The root cause of such problems can elude those working in the business and this is when a timely call to Tina Laws, the business whisperer, can provide a much-needed reset and the restoration of harmony in the workplace." The phrase I keep coming back to is "can elude those working in the business". Leaders are not missing the conflict because they are careless. They are missing it because they are inside it. They have history with the people involved, a stake in the outcome, and a view of the team shaped by their own role in it. A neutral mediator has none of that. No history, no stake, no side. That is what makes it possible for people to say, often for the first time, what is actually wrong. If a team keeps returning to the same argument with different surface details, the people closest to it are rarely the ones who can see the root cause. That is the moment to bring someone in. #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture #ConflictResolution #WorkplaceMediation

HR leaders ask me the same question almost every month: can mediation replace our investigation? No, and it should not try to. An investigation decides what happened and whether a policy was broken. Where a complaint involves harassment, discrimination or safety, that process belongs with HR and your legal advisers first. A mediator does not make findings about who was right. Mediation does something an investigation cannot. It helps two people who still have to work together agree how they will do that, in their own words, with commitments they wrote themselves. The mistake I see most is using one tool for the other's job. A formal process run to repair a relationship leaves both people defensive. A mediation run to establish facts leaves everyone feeling judged. The order that works: the formal process first where one is needed, then mediation to rebuild the working relationship once it has run its course. Mediation is voluntary, confidential within limits I explain at the start, and it is not legal advice. It is the part of conflict resolution that gets people back to work. #HumanResources #WorkplaceMediation #EmployeeRelations

🗣The most expensive sentence in a workplace may be: “I didn’t want to say anything.” Think about how many problems begin there. An employee doesn’t feel heard. A manager avoids a difficult conversation. A colleague feels resentment. A leader notices something isn’t working but doesn’t address it. Everyone stays “professional.” Everyone stays polite. Everyone says: “It’s fine.” Until it isn’t. Avoiding conflict doesn’t eliminate it.🛑 It simply gives it time to grow. Healthy organisations aren’t organisations without conflict. They’re organisations where people know how to have the conversation before the conflict becomes the culture. Don't wait!
📢 For too long, ambitious women have been sold a lie: that a thriving career must come at the expense of a mediocre marriage. Think about the preparation involved in boxing. You see fitness trainers and executive coaches push clients to invest in their strength, conditioning, and mental strategy to dominate in the ring. They tell you to protect your core, perfect your stance, and plan your every move. I have that same passion, but my focus is your foundation. My goal is to help you win the fight for your relationship with the same rigor and dedication a top coach demands. We are building a marriage that is undefeated because it is strategically prepared. You are closing out the year as a leader, a heavy hitter, and a professional success. You deserve a partnership that mirrors that excellence. You should not have to live life lopsided - delivering knockouts in the boardroom only to come home to a relationship that feels like a defensive strategy. 🏋♀️ It is time to invest in your relationship strategy with the same fierce focus you invest in your career strategy. I am hosting the CEO of Home and Hustle webinar to give you the blueprint for integration, not compromise. This is where we ensure your ambition becomes your marriage's greatest asset, not its silent killer. Why invest now? The women who hit 2026 ahead of the game are the ones who solidify their foundation before January 1st. You can't start sparring in January if you haven't mastered your footwork now. Be one of them. ➡️ Invest in your most crucial asset: your home life’s championship round, today. Early Registration: Only $57 (Price increases to $126 after Dec 24th) https://lnkd.in/ecHGDjwj Let's make 2026 the year your relationship finally matches your ambition.
