Why more mines are switching from AODD to electric QUANTM pumps.
Air-operated double diaphragm (AODDs) pumps have been a mine site’s best friend for decades, serving as a robust and safe solution for dewatering, slurry transfer, chemical dosing and the delivery of fuel or lubricants. AODDs are reliable but they are largely inefficient and resource intensive, meaning they no longer satisfy the cost and productivity demands of many modern mine sites. This has seen a new solution come to the fore: the electric diaphragm pump, of which Graco has been a key proponent. All-Pumps sales consultant Oscar H. shares why the electric diaphragm pump is becoming so popular: https://lnkd.in/gapv2ASt #electricdiaphragmpump #pumpsystems #AODDs

In high-flow fluid transfer applications, maintenance shouldn't be what slows production down. Yet frequent service, complex repairs and unexpected downtime can put added pressure on maintenance teams and impact uptime. The new QUANTM i230 helps simplify maintenance while delivering the performance and capabilities users expect from a traditional AODD pump. • ProConnect Service Design enables fast, safe fluid section swaps right at the line, reducing service time and getting systems back up and running faster. • Isolated Motor Design physically separates the motor architecture from the fluid pathway, helping protect drive components from fluid ingress. • No Compromise on AODD performance with self-priming capability, dry-run operation, pressure-unbalanced operation, and solids handling. Less maintenance. More uptime. Same AODD performance. What can a 100-year-old company learn from a startup? More than you might think. Graco began in a Minneapolis garage in 1926. A century later, the tools have changed, the business has grown, but the mindset remains the same: stay curious, solve real customer problems and keep improving. A garnet ring with room for 12 diamonds. That’s the unique incentive for our product engineers. Every time one of our engineers earns a patent for an innovation, another diamond is added to their ring. Diane Olson, Vice President of Engineering for the Industrial Division, takes you behind the scenes of our team of inventors. Traditional 3-inch pneumatic pumps are limited by available compressed air, which can become a bottleneck in high-flow transfer applications. QUANTM i230 removes that constraint, enabling sustained high-flow operation and helping your plant move more fluid, increase output and maximize throughput. High-flow fluid transfer has gone electric: https://lnkd.in/eZayPsRd #FluidHandling #PlantEngineering #Graco #QUANTMi230 #IndustrialAutomation #EnergyEfficiency #Manufacturing

A firsthand look at manufacturing can open up a world of possibilities. Last week, approximately 150 students from schools across the Twin Cities and northwest metro joined us at our Koch Center in Rogers for Manufacturing Day. Through facility tours, activities and Q&As with Graco employees, students explored modern manufacturing and the variety of careers available in the industry. It’s one more way we’re helping connect STEM education to future careers and inspire the problem-solvers and innovators who will shape what comes next.
