The North American Bus Industries 60-LFW is a 60 foot low floor articulated transit bus. The first and only order for this bus was placed by the Chicago Transit Authority in 2001 with deliveries between 2003 and 2005. After more favorable results with the 60-BRT, the 60-LFW was discontinued in 2008.
The bus's structure was composed of welded steel that is phosphate coated to protect from corrosion. Side panels and roof panels used welded galvanized steel, and fibre reinforced polymer was used for the end caps. Wheelhousings, stepwells, main electrical compartment and battery compartment used stainless steel.
The 60-LFW was available in two- or three-door configurations with a choice of wide or narrow doors. Conventional diesel, diesel-electric hybrid, and natural gas drivetrains were available.
