For the second time, we opened our doors for the kick-off of the WU Ignite Ventures VC Analyst Program 🚀 The program is a selective venture capital fellowship at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business). Over one semester, top students gain hands-on experience in early-stage investing: scouting founders on campus, analyzing markets and business models, writing deal memos, and debating live cases in weekly IC-style sessions with partner VCs. At the kick-off, Johannes Ferner shared our growth story and answered questions from the cohort, covering navigating regulatory change, keeping pace with AI developments, strengthening data security, and staying close to customers in a rapidly evolving environment. We were once a small Vienna startup ourselves. Supporting the next generation of investors and founders is our way of giving back to the ecosystem that helped us scale. Paying at an EV charging point should be as easy as paying at the pump ⚡ ev-pay makes it happen: no app, no contract, just card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Last Friday, EY presented the #EOY2026 award to honor entrepreneurs who, in a world of constant change, don’t just react to change but actively give it direction: driving innovation and combining economic success with value for society. Johannes received the award from State Secretary Elisabeth Zehetner and Wolfgang Eisl. It’s our second EY recognition this year. In June, fiskaly was named EY Scale-up of the Year 2026, selected from more than 330 applications by a jury of 87 experts. No Risk, No Fun(ds) 🚀 That was the motto of yesterday’s AustrianStartups Summit, which brought 1,000+ founders, investors, and community members together in Vienna. The energy in the room was great: a real celebration of entrepreneurial spirit and of the people willing to take the leap. Our co-founder and Co-CEO Johannes Ferner joined the panel on “The Austrian Scaling Path” alongside Maria Antonia Zahlbruckner (factorymaker) and Markus Lang (Speedinvest), moderated by Florian Haas (EY). They discussed which funding fits which stage, from equity and debt to venture debt, grants, and revenue-based financing, and the typical mistakes Austrian startups make when they scale. Johannes shared lessons from fiskaly’s own journey, from starting in Vienna with one fiscalization framework in one market to building VAT compliance infrastructure for 9 markets across Europe today. The day also asked a question that matters for everyone in this ecosystem: what’s still missing so more people in Austria take the leap? A conversation we’re proud to help shape. Michael Peter and Raphael Haberl recently attended World Summit AI 2026 in Amsterdam 💥 Now in its 10th edition, the summit sets the global AI agenda, spotlighting real-world applications, emerging technologies, and the risks, benefits, and opportunities of artificial intelligence. The biggest takeaway: AI made building cheap, so the crucial skill now is deciding what’s actually worth building. As an AI-first company, we already have a strategy in place, and three sessions offered valuable insights to sharpen it further: 1. “Designing AI use cases that actually deliver value” (Atos): Validate first, then build. Speed is no longer the bottleneck. Focus is. 2. “Buying AI vs. buying outcomes: Turning AI investment into measurable business value” (Marlabs): Every project needs a metric, a measured baseline, and one named owner before work starts. 3. “What the most advanced companies and departments are doing with AI app building” (Base44): Rethink who builds what. Non-developers explore and maintain, while engineers focus on what only they can do. AI success depends less on the tools and more on how you organize around them. fiskaly is entering its 9th market: Czechia 🇨🇿 From January 1, 2027, EET 2.0 requires businesses across retail, services, and hospitality to report in-person sales to the tax authority in real time. fiskaly SIGN CZ is ready for integration today. What makes EET 2.0 tricky is that it doesn’t matter how the customer pays, only where they are. A card payment at the counter counts, but the same card in an online checkout doesn’t. SIGN CZ handles that distinction for every payment. The tax portal opens on November 1, and every merchant registers at the same time. POS and ERP vendors can already test end to end against the tax authority’s own environment, so when the portal opens, registration is the only step left. More here: https://lnkd.in/d3MiVSTi

AEAT's platform only has to be live by 6 August 2027, and integration testing can't start before it is.
