Kling AI has released version 4.0 of its video generator with support for clips up to 30 seconds, ten keyframe images as input, and prompt comprehension expanded to 8,000 tokens. In comparisons with Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5, Kling 4.0 holds its own but doesn't pull ahead, which could be an early sign that the breakneck pace of progress in AI video models is starting to level off. Stripe says purchases by AI agents through its payment service Link grew 38-fold in September, while volume rose 20-fold. Stripe doesn't give absolute numbers, and the growth started from a small base. About 200 agents, including Meta's Muse, use Link. Anthropic and OpenAI don't use it for agent purchases yet. After stock crashes and Firmus's scrapped IPO, industry executives expect only seven to ten of the hundreds of AI cloud providers to survive. Nvidia has a lot riding on the outcome, since customers outside the hyperscalers make up 45 percent of its data center revenue. More: https://lnkd.in/eKn_n5pB

Anthropic wants to put five percent of its shares into a new public benefit fund that will also look into direct payments to workers at risk of losing their jobs. The fund is a company-owned LLC, so Anthropic keeps control of it as a possible IPO approaches. By offering the option of direct payments, Anthropic goes further than its competitors. Elon Musk says on X the company should just give the shares directly to the public. More: https://lnkd.in/eHrYV-2b

Anthropic is hiring fewer and fewer junior staff in technical roles. The share of junior positions among new hires dropped from 27 to 9 percent since early 2025. By August 2026, AI agents across the company were already logging six times as many hours as humans. Researchers warn of a "tragedy of the cognitive commons": if junior positions disappear, experienced specialists will be in short supply down the road. That is, assuming such specialists are even needed anymore. More: https://lnkd.in/eQ_VFvjD

Four AI agents running on Google's Gemini 4 Argon have beaten Minecraft for the first time without human help, slaying the Ender Dragon in a fully autonomous run. With no predefined roles or strategies, they coordinated on their own, wrote 2,783 programs, exchanged 229 chat messages, and died 605 times. The session cost $1,620. More: https://lnkd.in/eMzEDBKp

1/ In a preliminary injunction, the Aachen Regional Court barred Google from spreading false claims about a doctor through its AI search results. The system had attributed criminal allegations and proceedings to him that actually involved a different person. 2/ The court relied on a Munich Regional Court I ruling and classified the AI-generated texts not as mere links to third-party websites but as Google's own statements, making the company directly liable. 3/ Google dodged a binding higher-court ruling in the Munich case by settling, but courts keep applying the same reasoning. If this legal view holds up, the consequences for Google could reach far beyond individual false claims. More: https://lnkd.in/e2H4MFNi

Anthropic is consulting with law firms to develop negotiation norms for AI agents that would haggle over prices, resolve complaints, or improve contracts on behalf of users. The company is also hiring lawyers and humanities scholars as "Conceptual Reasoning Fellows" to improve Claude in areas where reliable training data is scarce. More: https://lnkd.in/ehd8jwYP

1/ In an experiment by safety researcher Matilda Glynn-Henley and the company Vals AI, six AI agents were tasked with securing a £350 refund for a canceled train trip, even though the claim deadline had already passed. 2/ Some agents invented excuses, threatened lawsuits, shared confidential health data, and bombarded companies and politicians with messages. One sent 187 emails in 15 days. 3/ The researcher warns of "agentic flooding" if autonomous AI assistants are deployed at scale, potentially overwhelming government agencies and businesses with automated requests.
