EEAG Allies Group - Expression of Interest Form

This form is for people who want to join the Allies Group of the Global Mental Health Action Network's (GMHAN) Expert by Experience Action Group (EEAG) on the Deinstitutionalisation of Mental Health Care.

The EEAG is led by people with lived experience of institutionalisation. The Allies Group brings together professionals, policymakers, researchers, organisations, faith and community leaders, and others who share the EEAG's mission: ending institutionalisation and advancing rights-based, person-centred, community-based mental health care.

Allies act as bridges between the EEAG and the professional, institutional and community stakeholders they belong to. They open doors, build understanding within their own communities, and create space for experts by experience to lead. The Allies Group works in support of the EEAG's priorities, guided by the principle of "nothing about us without us."

If you have lived experience of institutionalisation directly or as a family member or caregiver, you are warmly invited to apply to the EEAG itself. You are also welcome to join the Allies Group if you prefer.

For more information, please read the Allies Group's interim terms of reference: [link].
