Support the Clasped Hands Fund for Alumnae

The Clasped Hands Fund Grant provides emergency financial assistance to alumnae who find themselves in financial distress.


 The Clasped Hands Fund started with contributions received at Grand Convention hosted in Palm Desert in 1993. The fund was endowed in 1997 thanks to the generosity of Deen Day Sanders, Beta Sigma—Mercer University. Additional gifts are made regularly to the Clasped Hands Fund through the Violets for My Sisters giving program. For many years, gifts to the Clasped Hands Fund were recognized with a silk violet tied to attendee name tags at Convention; a violet appliqué was introduced at the 150th Anniversary Convention in 2001 and in 2000 the Foundation launched a virtual Violets giving program in conjunction with Day of Giving. In 2026, at the 175th Anniversary Grand Convention, again in Palm Desert, Violets for My Sisters had a record-breaking year raising $80,000.
