Well, that sucked! I’ve been cold calling for years. Longer than all the SDRs posting on Linkedin daily. I started that too, way back in 2019 - nobody was posting calls on Linkedin. This is the first person in my career to ever ring me back, BUT hang up! True. I told him it was a cold call and gave him the choice. He took the hang up He didn't hang up because it was a cold call I suspect. He hung up because he's in the United States, ringing a UK number, and he was the one paying for it, which I kind of get. You can always tell when it’s going to happen - they always sound very stand-offish from the off, as Eduardo did here. The good thing is, he called back. That means at least the data I am using is correct, and the mobile number is right. Usually when dialling and a call goes unanswered, I never know why or if it’s even the right contact not answering. Thanks to BetterContact for the number that rings back.  I just wished he stayed on…or do I? #makesalesmengreatagain

Our GTM World Tour™ made it to Times Square - and tomorrow it finally starts! Somewhere between a Broadway ad and a soda billboard, there is now a screen running an event series that started as a crazy idea. 10 cities. 2 continents. 600 seats. Companies like Make, Factorial, Gong and Clay backing the stops. Over 1.000 seat applications, and some events are already oversubscribed. The whole tour exists because the AI-GTM conversation got so noisy that nobody can tell what actually works anymore. So every stop is local operators showing real systems and what they see working for Q4. Proud of the whole team that makes this tour happen - we are all very hyped! Later stops are still open, so make sure to apply for a seat!

When I started BetterContact, there was a point where I could name every tool in our GTM stack. That's long gone. Because somewhere earlier this year, I realized how hard it had become to keep up with how fast everything was moving. New tools every week. Then tools for the tools. I couldn't tell which ones actually worked, which ones worked together, or which combinations everyone else was quietly winning with. So most of us do the same thing instead: run our own experiments, in the dark, and hope we're guessing right. Meanwhile the bar keeps moving. We're not just up against other teams anymore. We're up against AI agents running the same plays at a volume no human can match. So how do we actually stand out? I don't think anyone figures that out alone anymore. That's why we are getting the best operators and the companies building GTM into the same room. 10 cities, one month. The GTM World Tour™. September 1 to October 1. Berlin → Munich → Amsterdam → Dublin → London → Paris → Barcelona → Boston → New York → San Francisco. Partners like Clay, Gong, Make, and Hexa are opening their offices for it. 60 seats per city, application only. Applications are open for all 10 cities via gtmworldtour(.)com

I HATE COLD CALLING. There I said it. See, even I can lie at times. I don't hate it. In fact, sadly, I do enjoy it. Several reasons; 1) I am good at it. 2) I always follow my, now very popular process, for calling (just listen to those that post on here, you'll feel me...) 3) I find it fun interacting with strangers. In fact I did/do better on the phones getting meetings than I ever have hitting on girls in pubs and clubs, and I know I have done that almost as often (before the wife..). 4) I find the challenge of thinking on one's feet stimulating. 5) It makes great content for YouTube (see loads more on my channel - Just search for me) 6) I always think I could be better - it's true. I never feel I do really well on calls, and that pushes me - makes me cross boundaries and say things many find uncomfortable. 7) I always have a laugh. I can't think of a morning or an afternoon where I have not had a prospect Guwaff with pleasure - ohh la la la. 8) It's real selling - not as in closing deals - it's prospecting - but it's not being a wimp and a pussy and hiding behind email, AI, Inbound, Videos etc. It's in the trenches, talking to real people, in real time and facing real challenges. 9) I need a filler to get to 10. 10) It works! I built my business on it. I have inspired and trained folk that have bult their businesses on it. I have influenced so many LinkedIners in how they call - because it works! 11) Bonus plug - I use Trellus (YC W22) as my dialler - bloody awesome platform and I use BetterContact for my data enrichment - even better data! What I am really trying to say is this: Buy my Stuff. It's bloody good. Easily Accessible and It works! salesmatrixcourses you add the com and the dot. #makesalesmengreatagain

3 months ago, I called my friend Nicolas with an idea that sounded crazy. Ten cities in one month, Europe to the US, hosting in-person events around the 'red pill' for GTM. He said yes. 4 hours later, we started asking everyone we know for intros to partner offices. Then strangers replied to cold messages with "let me introduce you." Almost every room on this tour exists because someone did that for us. It has also been the most stressful thing I have done, and that is the part nobody posts about. GTM has never looked more crowded, and never felt more lonely. Everyone runs their own experiments. Almost nobody shares what worked. That is the real reason this tour exists. The GTM World Tour™. September 1 to October 1. Berlin → Munich → Amsterdam → Dublin → London → Paris → Barcelona → Boston → New York → San Francisco finale week. Partners like Clay, Gong, Make, and Hexa are opening their offices for it. 60 seats per city, application only. Nothing gets streamed, because "you had to be there" is the entire point. Applications are open for all 10 cities via gtmworldtour(.)com

Consistency in your data matters a lot. A week ago I launched a new campaign promoting unlimited Signals with SIGNALIZ. Its been going pretty well. As we don't offer contact data, I needed a reliable source to verify this lead data. Pretty impressed with BetterContact. Easy to use API, strong lead data, mobile, emails, etc. More importantly, 37 ops in the last week and my calendar is full so they must be doing something right:) Most people know this is not easy, but no matter how good the offer is, if the underlying data is not rock solid, your doomed.

Last week I went to our offsite in France to discuss our next big bets for BetterContact. I arrived already knowing one uncomfortable thing: we're not where we want to be yet with our product. Yes, we do better than relying on any single data provider. That's the reason BetterContact exists. But that was never meant to be the finish line. The bar we're actually chasing is huge. The average data provider gets you a ~3% connect rate on the phone. Three out of a hundred. That's the status quo we want to make look ridiculous. Here's the standard we actually want to hit: If you're trying to reach one specific person, to tell them about something that could genuinely improve their business, we always want to hand you the right email or a mobile number. Right now, too many of the emails and numbers we return are not meeting that new standard for our promise. That's exactly why we met up with the Landbase team again on this trip - to work out how their AI Lab can help us close that gap. So that's the bet. Not more coverage for its own sake. Every contact reachable, and every contact right. We're not there yet. But I'd rather say that out loud than pretend we are.

Everyone's testing new models and workflows in GTM, but almost nobody shares what actually worked for them. Which makes building right now feel more isolating than it looks. You run experiments every week. New angles, new Claude Code workflows, new lead-scoring logic. And most of the time you have no idea if anyone else got the same result, or if you're already behind. It looks like a crowded space, but it feels like solo research. That's exactly why I'm excited for events like AI in Sales 2026. My friend Nicolas and the Scalantec team are putting 60 operators in one room on July 2 in Berlin, where they will be sharing real use cases (and I'll also share what's working for us right now). Real credit to the team for organizing this! If you're in GTM, RevOps, or running founder-led sales, this is the room to be in. Link in the comments. 👇

If you blame your data for a bad cold calling day, you're either lazy, lying, or both. I've been saying this for 20 years. Control you, not the list. The phone doesn't care about your excuses. And I still believe it, well,  90% of it. But last month something happened that made me eat my own words. I hate that. Here's the uncomfortable bit. truth. I pulled together a list I was sure was quality. Dialled for two hours. Connect rate was garbage. So, I did what I tell everyone to do, . I blamed myself. Changed the opener. Changed the energy. Dialled again. Still garbage. Then I checked the actual numbers. Not my pitch. The literal phone numbers. Nearly a third of them were never going to ring. Wrong, dead, or a landline wearing a mobile's clothes. I'd spent two hours getting "rejected" by numbers that don't exist. That's not rejection. That's not a skills problem. That's arithmetic. Now here’s the line I never thought I'd type: “𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙖 𝙄𝙎 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙢.” Once. After that it's on you to fix it and stop whining. So I fixed it.  I stopped feeding my dial list raw numbers and started running them through BetterContact first, so the dead ones get binned before they steal my morning. Did my skills suddenly matter less? No. But for the first time in 20 years, every "no" was a real human choosing no. Not a phantom number lying to me. That's the difference between practicing and pretending. So, before you tell me your data sucks: have you earned the right to say that yet? Or are you just hiding behind it? Either way, hit the phones!

For the last 6 months we rebuilt the part of BetterContact you never see. Not a feature. The infrastructure underneath every single enrichment. It just went live. 🚀 The difference you'll feel is one thing: speed. 7.7x faster than before. We put more into this rebuild than into anything else we've shipped. No new buttons. No flashy demo. Just the 'boring' foundation. Here's why it was worth half a year: At 450,000+ enrichments a day, every second of latency compounds across thousands of lists. Slow infrastructure quietly caps everything you build on top of it. So we fixed the floor before adding another ceiling. This is the biggest upgrade we've shipped that you'll notice without ever seeing it!
