Over the past few weeks, members of our legal and recruitment teams have been on the road meeting students and graduates at career fairs across the country. We visited Dublin City University, Maynooth University, the University of Galway, University College Cork, and SETU Extended Campus Carlow. These events gave us a great opportunity to showcase the important work of our Office, share insights into careers in law and public service, and connect with talented students interested in making a difference through their work. Thank you to the organisers across all the universities for having us, and to everyone who stopped by our stands to learn more about what we do, and the career opportunities available within the ODPP. #LegalCareers #PublicService

On Monday 28 September, we hosted our third annual staff conference in the beautiful surrounds of the Law Society of Ireland's President's Hall. The event provided an excellent opportunity for our colleagues to come together for a valuable day of learning, discussion, and collaboration. Jared Gormly, James O'Connell, and Catherine Marsh from the Health Service Executive shared insights on the HSE Spark Innovation Programme, particularly highlighting their work on the examiner-led forensic photography pilot they developed in the Rotunda Hospital's Sexual Assault Trauma Unit. Aoife Nic Dhiarmada (Dermody), Co-founder and CEO of Quality Matters, delivered an insightful presentation on the neurobiology of trauma, and its implications for prosecution. We also had presentations and panel discussions from internal speakers who shared organisational developments and gave updates on the key projects shaping the future of our Office. Thank you to all who participated and made the conference such a success.

Delighted to have attended this event in Eurojust in The Hague last week, marking Ireland's EU presidency. I am particularly grateful to An Post for their wonderful and generous collaboration on our 'Art Meets Justice' exhibition in the Eurojust lobby, which provided a fitting and distinct backdrop to the evening's activities. Special thanks to Aileen Mooney and Jack O'Byrne from An Post's Stamp Design/Corporate Communications team. Their invaluable support and expertise were instrumental in bringing together this unique exhibition of justice-related stamp issues. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Ireland sincerely appreciates their partnership and contribution to the success of this project. 🇮🇪 🇪🇺 #Ireland2026EU
Ambassador Ann Derwin welcomed the opportunity to attend last week’s Irish Presidency reception at Eurojust, thanking President Michael Schmid for Eurojust’s important work, and reminding us that there is no strength without unity, including when it comes to fighting serious and organised crime. The Irish Presidency is committed to ensuring a safer and secure Europe. Many thanks to Orlagh Flood for joining us from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Ireland. A special thanks to Tricia Harkin and the Irish Desk for organising and for successfully showcasing the sights, sounds, and tastes of Ireland. 🇮🇪 🇪🇺 #Ireland2026EU 📸: Eurojust
