The Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, Cllr. Dr. Caroline Winstanley, along with the Chief Executive Emer O’Gorman welcomed H.E. Teresa Lizaranzu, Ambassador of Spain to Ireland and H.E. Brian Glynn, Ambassador of Ireland to Spain. The visit was an opportunity to celebrate the strong relationship between Ireland and Spain while highlighting the importance of European cooperation, cultural exchange, and diplomatic engagement at both local and national levels. It also offered an opportunity to showcase Wicklow, its rich heritage, vibrant communities and contribution to Ireland’s cultural life. This series of events explored the connections between Irish and Spanish traditions involving the visual arts, music and poetry.
