A project can finish on time and still fall short. The deadline of several measures a project manager answers for. Value delivered, stakeholder expectations, cost, quality and risk are judged alongside it, and they often pull in different directions. The PMP® credential, awarded by the Project Management Institute, assesses that judgement. Its examination was revised on 9 July 2026 under a new Examination Content Outline. CEAI Academy’s PMP® exam preparation course follows that outline and the PMBOK® Guide, Eighth Edition. It is conducted by the Consulting Engineers Association of India. 📅 Five Saturdays: 14, 21 and 28 November, 5 and 12 December 2026 🖥️ Live online 10:00 am to 6:00 pm IST ⏰ 35 Contact hours, the training requirement for your PMP® application 📝 Mock tests and exam strategy included 🎟️ Early bird fee of ₹16,000 + GST for the first 10 registrations To register, write to coordinator.ceaiacademy@ceai.org.in or call 9871166102. Two concrete cores rise inside the Statue of Unity, from foundation to shoulder. Around them, a structural steel framework holds roughly 6,500 bronze panels in place, forming the skin visitors see from the Narmada. The whole system was engineered for wind speeds of up to 50 metres per second and earthquakes of magnitude 6.5. This reel removes each layer in turn to show how a 182-metre figure stays upright on two narrow legs. Work like this is where consulting engineers earn their place, in calculations no visitor will ever see. Follow CEAI for the engineering behind India’s landmark structures. Variations, time extensions, payment certificates, disputes: a FIDIC Contract governs all four. How well those clauses are administered on site often decides whether a project stays on track. Knowing who certifies payment, how a claim must be notified and when a determination is due turns a well-drafted contract into a well-run project. Practical Management of FIDIC Contracts is a two-day CEAI Academy course on how these provisions work day to day. It is offered by the Consulting Engineers Association of India, India’s member association of FIDIC. 📅 7 and 8 December 2026 📍 CEAI Centre, New Delhi (in person) 🎟️ Early bird fees for the first 10 registrations, lower rates for CEAI members and women, and group discounts for five or more delegates To claim the early bird fee, write to coordinator.ceaiacademy@ceai.org.in or call 98711 66102. The bigger your projects become, the less room there is for guesswork. Experience helps you solve problems. But leading complex projects also demands structure in how you plan, assess risk, manage stakeholders, control change and make decisions under pressure. That is where PMP® can add real value. It helps professionals turn years of experience into a more disciplined approach to project leadership, while building the confidence and credibility needed for larger responsibilities. Want to take the next step in your project management career? Learn more about CEAI Academy’s upcoming PMP® training programme. A missed deadline is usually the last visible symptom, not the first sign of trouble. The more useful question is: How early could the delay have been detected? On complex projects, the cost of poor visibility compounds. A small planning issue can affect linked activities, resource availability and progress long before the final milestone moves. By the time the deadline is officially missed, the project team may already be reacting rather than controlling. That is why mature project controls focus less on reporting what went wrong and more on creating early warning systems. A good planning system should help teams answer: - What has slipped? - What will it affect next? - Is the critical path changing? - Are available resources still sufficient? - What corrective action is possible now? Tools such as Primavera P6 become valuable when they turn a schedule from a static plan into a system for visibility, forecasting and control. Delhi Metro is the lifeline of Delhi. But did you know that BIM and GIS experts would often see it differently? And yet, those initiated in the profession know that 𝐁𝐈𝐌 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐈𝐒 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦. BIM helps teams understand the asset itself: what was built, how its systems fit together, and how that information can support design, construction, coordination and future operations. GIS looks outward. It connects that asset to the city around it: transport networks, utilities, adjoining infrastructure, land use and the wider urban environment. So the distinction is not simply technical. 𝐁𝐈𝐌 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐡. 𝐆𝐈𝐒 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭. For a network as complex as Delhi’s, both perspectives matter. A station cannot be understood only as a collection of systems, and a city cannot be understood only as points on a map. The real value appears when detailed asset information and spatial context begin working together. 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬: 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭-𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭? Taller building means solving harder problems. For the Burj Khalifa, height was only a part of the challenge. Wind loads, concrete pumping, foundations, Dubai’s heat and vertical logistics all had to be addressed as parts of one extraordinary engineering effort. For consulting engineers, it is a strong reminder: great engineering comes from managing complexity, and figuring out ways to engineer the impossible. Which of these five challenges do you think was the toughest to solve?
