Honda Avatar Robot is a robotics technology that enables people to work remotely through a robot that acts as their physical avatar. By combining a multi-fingered hand with human-like dexterity and strength with an AI support system that assists the operator, Honda aims to enable complex tasks to be enabled without requiring people to be physically present. Through applications in healthcare, facility maintenance, disaster response, space exploration and other fields, this technology frees human potential from the constraints of time, space, and physical limitations

In 2026, Honda Technical College celebrated its 50th anniversary. At its foundation is the belief that “technology is a means of serving society.” It is not simply about acquiring technical skills and knowledge. It is about thinking independently, working with one’s own hands, creating something new, and putting those abilities to use for people and society. Soichiro Honda sought to develop engineers with a spirit of challenge who are respected and trusted by others. That vision has been passed down for half a century, guided by these ideas: “Cultivating Professionalism and Mindset,” “Mastering Practical Skills Through Hands-On Experience,” and “Fostering a Commitment to Society and Initiative.” To mark this milestone, students took on a unique challenge: competing in the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique 2026. Around 30 students restored two first-generation 1975 CIVIC RS models. Handling everything from vehicle maintenance and parts procurement to on-site operations, they took on the rally alongside Takuma Sato and former Honda F1 development engineers. Both cars successfully reached the finish line. “To get a single car running, the students had to think for themselves, work with their own hands, and solve problems as a team.” The emphasis on hands-on learning that Honda Technical College has valued since its founding continues to live on in its students today. Honda Stories looks back on 50 years of the college and follows the students’ journey with the CIVIC RS—from restoration to completing the rally. http://spr.ly/6049BGvzBx http://spr.ly/6040BGvzBI

Honda Develops Underlying Technology for In-motion Wireless Charging of EVs, Including Large Commercial Vehicles Toward the realization of a next-generation mobility society that combines freedom of mobility with reduced environmental impact, Honda R&D Co., Ltd., the R&D subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd., has jointly developed underlying technology for a magnetic coupling wireless power transfer road system with Taisei Corporation and Taisei Rotec Corporation. The system enables EVs to be charged wirelessly while in motion. Dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) technology is expected to make EVs more convenient by supplying power while they are in motion, reducing the need for charging at home or at charging stations. Honda is initially aiming to put the technology into practical use in the logistics and transportation sectors, where it is expected to offer particularly significant benefits. Building on this underlying technology, the three companies will further accelerate their joint research as they prepare for demonstration testing on public roads from the Japanese 2027 fiscal year onward. Honda will continue to pursue co-creation with a diverse range of partners beyond the automotive industry, including road infrastructure-related businesses, government agencies and energy-related businesses, as it works toward a future mobility society that supports sustainable and free mobility. http://spr.ly/6048BGImGw EVへの走行中無線給電の実現に向け、大型商用車にも対応する基盤技術を開発 自由な移動と環境負荷低減を両立できる次世代のモビリティ社会の実現に向けて、Hondaの研究開発子会社である株式会社本田技術研究所は、大成建設株式会社および大成ロテック株式会社と共同で、走行中のEVに非接触で給電が可能な「磁界結合方式無線給電道路システム」の基盤技術を開発しました。 http://spr.ly/6049BGImGb

Honda Sun, established in 1981, celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. Honda Sun was established through a joint investment by Honda and Japan Sun Industries, Japan’s first employment support facility for people with disabilities, founded by Dr. Yutaka Nakamura. At its foundation is the belief that “there is no such group of people as ‘the disabled.’ Every person has their own unique qualities and strengths unlike anyone else’s.” Honda Sun began by assembling parts, but its scope of operations has since expanded significantly. Today, approximately 240 employees with disabilities play important roles across a diverse range of fields, supporting Honda’s business through technical work such as CAD-based design support and image annotation for automated driving, as well as parts assembly and inspection, purchasing operations, business card production, and the processing of commemorative items. “Each person realizes their individual strengths, contributes to society as an individual, and lives life in their own way.” Carrying this aspiration forward, Honda Sun will continue to embody “Respect for the Individual,” one of Honda’s fundamental beliefs, while taking on the challenge of realizing a society where everyone can pursue their dreams and individual strengths and thrive in their own way.
