Hope, a creature feature from Na Hong-jin (writer/director of The Wailing), starts out really well-probably the best solid sixty minutes of action cinema I’ve seen in quite a while. Then it becomes pretty okay, and then it ends with some truly bizarre goofiness. But the film runs for two hours and forty minutes, so you’re bound to get a full movie’s worth of good story in any case.
