Jayden Loving, a 2021 Hamilton High School graduate, has signed with the Chicago Bears in the NFL. On July 11, he hosted a football camp for kids through sixth grade at Hamilton.
HAMILTON — Hamilton High School graduate Jayden Loving, who is signed to play for the Chicago Bears in the NFL, hosted a football camp on Saturday morning, July 11, for kids K-6.
“I just wanted to go out there and give back to the community and help,” Loving said. “We’re going to have a lot of people there to help us out and learn football, have fun and get kids more involved.”
Loving got his start playing football at around 7 years old, playing during halftime before he was old enough to join a youth team.
As soon as he was old enough, he joined his first youth team before starting to play in middle school.
Loving played his entire high school career at Hamilton, graduating in 2021. From there, he went on to play at Bethune-Cookman University, then Western Kentucky and finally Wake Forest.
In March, Loving had the opportunity to go to the NFL’s Pro Day.
“After Pro Day—I had a really good Pro Day—teams started to reach out,” he said. “That’s where you’re transitioning from the end of the season to the draft process, and then going out to meet the coaches while you’re staying there during Pro Day. Then you start getting calls and texts and then eventually, the Bears got a hold of me.
“It was very heavy on me during the process, but I’m thankful for that, because they hit me up to pick my brain and see what type of person I was, because at the end of the day, it’s the type of person you are that will take you further than football ever could.
“It’s a real big blessing, coming where I come from. It’s amazing to have the opportunity to go and play in the NFL. I’m gonna keep stacking my days and doing what I’ve got to do to stay there for a while...I’m already working now, but I’m excited to go put those pads and that jersey on for the first time.”
