❗️Upcoming Webinar❗️ “Introduction to TCO Certified Cloud for Procuring and Measuring Cloud Resource Sustainability” IT organizations heavily depend on cloud platforms, including hosted AI infrastructure. IT sustainability leaders more than ever need practical ways to procure IaaS cloud resources more sustainably and to measure and report their impacts. To address this need, TCO Development is launching a standard tool, “TCO Certified Cloud,” with independently verified criteria covering climate (energy/carbon), circularity, chemicals, supply chains and transparency. The first certifications are currently being piloted, with certified cloud resources expected to launch in Q4 2026. During this session, key insights will be shared from this development journey and how IT organizations can make use of the Certification to drive sustainability progress. Leading the discussion: 🎙️Barton Finn - Project Manager, TCO Certified Cloud 🎙️Linn Grip - Purchaser Engagement, CO Certified Cloud You won't want to miss this one! Sometimes in life we have those rare opportunities to welcome a new team member that we've already known and appreciated for a while. Well I'm super excited to welcome TWO incredibly dedicated new team members to lead our market engagement in the UK and North America. Emily Watson-Breeze joins us in the UK, as a technology sustainability leader and member of Government Digital Sustainability Alliance. David Alloggia will lead our engagement in North America, bringing deep knowledge from his IT sustainability role with the Government of Canada and Circular & Fair ICT (CFIT) Pact. We're so glad to have you both on board! Picture from our recent staff conference in Sweden -before David and Emily were subjected to the "Swedish food challenge" 😉 #sustainability #climate #procurement TCO Development

Cloud services may feel intangible, but their sustainability impacts are very real... So how can users know what they’re buying, and trust the sustainability claims and data behind it? That’s exactly the challenge TCO Certified Cloud is designed to address: bringing greater transparency, comparability and independent verification to the sustainability of cloud resources. Join me at Green IO London on 1 October, where I’ll share the journey behind TCO Certified Cloud — the world’s first sustainability certification for cloud resources. The criteria were published earlier this year, certification pilots are now underway, and the first certified cloud resources are expected by the end of the year. I’ll share what we’ve learned along the way and what comes next. I’ll be there with my new colleague Emily Watson-Breeze, who will be working with purchaser engagement in the UK. Come and say hello, we’d love to meet you! #GreenIOLondon #TCOCertifiedCloud #TCOCertified #SustainableCloud TCO Development Green IO 🎙️

  • E-waste is officially the world’s fastest-growing waste stream . Even worse, less than a quarter of it is safely collected and recycled globally. Watch Andreas Nobell explain how TCO Certified requires IT brands to implement structured global take-back and certified recycling systems to change this trend.

  • From business models and purchasing practices to product design, user behavior, and recycling systems, a wide range of barriers continues to stand in the way of circular IT. This overview highlights the key challenges that prevent longer product lifetimes, higher levels of reuse, and more effective material recovery — and points to where change is needed.
