Volvo Group will establish Volvo Mining, a new entity that will bring together the Group’s capabilities, expertise and offer for mining customers and their contractors. Launching on 1 January 2027, Volvo Mining, hosted in Volvo Construction Equipment, will initially focus on Sweden, Norway, and Finland, with an ambition to expand into further markets over time. Per-Erik Lindström, currently Senior Vice President Volvo Trucks International, has been appointed Head of Volvo Mining. “Mining has been an important part of the Volvo Group for decades, but the industry's growing significance calls for an even greater level of focus. With Volvo Mining as our center of expertise, we are combining capabilities from across the Group to further enhance customer value in collaboration with our retail partners”, says Melker Jernberg, President of Volvo CE. We look forward to building this next chapter with our customers and retail partners. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eJt2-8VW

For Joakim Svensson, who has worked at Volvo for 28 years, the colleagues are a big part of what makes his job enjoyable. And his teammate Olof Jönsson agrees. Both are deaf and work on the assembly line at our Skövde plant in Sweden. “Of course, there can be some communication challenges. Some situations are easier than others, but we solve it through body language”, says Olof. Tomorrow is Hörselskadades dag in Sweden - a day to raise awareness of hearing loss. And to mark it, Joakim and Olof share a glimpse of their working lives at Volvo.

On World Mental Health Day, a reminder that small things can make a real difference. At our Tuve factory in Gothenburg, Secret Kindness started as a simple idea: make kindness something we actively practice, not just something we value. No big gestures required. Just a little more thought for the people around us. Because a better day for someone else can start with something very small.

What could work better, faster, or smarter on a factory floor? For production engineer Nora Larsson, questions like these are part of the everyday job at Volvo CE in Arvika. It means looking closely at how things are done today, exploring where automation could make a difference and turning ideas into something that works in real production. A day where engineering happens close to the machines, and even closer to the people building them.

With World Mental Health Day this week, it’s a good time to remember that meaningful conversations don’t always need a complicated starting point. At our Tuve factory in Gothenburg, a simple paper fortune teller was turned into a way to get colleagues talking about mental health, well-being and how we support each other at work. Sometimes, one good question is enough to open up a conversation that matters.

We’ve reached an important milestone in autonomous freight. Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S.) and Waabi have launched autonomous customer operations in Texas, with the Volvo VNL Autonomous powered by the Waabi Driver now transporting freight along the Dallas-Houston corridor. This marks the first deployment of V.A.S.' autonomous transport ecosystem, Autona/freight, in less-than-truckload (LTL) freight. By combining the Volvo VNL Autonomous, autonomous driving technology, fleet and transport management, operations, and uptime support, V.A.S. delivers a complete transport ecosystem designed to scale. Warp is the first customer in the partnership. This latest milestone demonstrates how autonomous transport can be integrated into real-world logistics networks and support more efficient freight movement as demand grows.
