The 21 July 2005 London bombings were a series of four attempted suicide bomb attacks on London's public transport system on 21 July 2005, exactly two weeks after the successful 7 July London bombings. The attacks targeted three London Underground trains and one bus. Although the explosive devices failed to detonate properly, causing only minor explosions, the incidents prompted a major police investigation and manhunt across the United Kingdom.
