Apps included with GrapheneOS
[change | change source]GrapheneOS includes some apps:
- App Store: allows the user to install a small number of apps and Google Play, which doesn't come preinstalled.[4]
- Vanadium: GrapheneOS's customised Chromium web browser with privacy friendly features. Removes Google features.[5]
Features
[change | change source]Graphene includes many features designed to improve the user's privacy and security:
- Sandboxed: Google Play: by default, GrapheneOS doesn't come with the Google Play Store or the system component "Google Play Services". Users can run the Play Store by downloading it from the "App Store" app. The Play Store on GrapheneOS runs with less privileges compared to regular Android devices.[6]
- Duress pin: GrapheneOS features a "duress pin" option. This allows the user to set up a second pin or password alongside their main PIN/password. Upon entry of the duress pin the phone is wiped and switched off, making data inaccessible.[7]
