Welcome to SwiftFun.
SwiftFun is an educational app for learning the Swift programming language, Apple platforms, and related technologies.
We respect users' right to privacy and strive to minimize the collection and processing of data.
This privacy policy describes what data may be processed when using the SwiftFun app, for what purpose, and under what conditions.
The data controller (the party determining the purposes and means of processing) is the developer of the SwiftFun app. Current contact details are provided in the "Contact" section, at support@swiftpractice.fun, and in the app.
By using the app, you confirm that you have read this policy. If you do not agree with its provisions, please stop using the app.
This policy applies together with the SwiftFun Terms of Use.
Registration is not required to use the core features of the app.
We do not ask you to provide and do not use in the normal operation of the app:
The absence of a request for such data does not mean that when voluntarily submitting a content error report or submitting a solution for review, you cannot transmit information that you enter yourself in code or in a task response. For more details, see the "Error Reports and Feedback" section.
Depending on which features you use, the following categories of data may be processed.
To ensure the app works, the following may be stored locally on the user's device:
This data is used to display progress, save settings, and provide access to materials in accordance with your subscription or purchase.
When the app is deleted from the device, the above data is generally deleted along with the app, unless otherwise provided by the operating system settings.
If iCloud backup (or other backup provided by Apple) is enabled on the device, app data may be included in the backup in accordance with Apple's privacy policy. We do not control the content or retention period of such backups.
Some app materials may only be available by subscription or after a one-time purchase.
Payment, renewal, subscription cancellation, and refunds are handled through the App Store. Payment details and bank card data are processed by Apple; the developer does not have access to them.
To verify access to paid content, the app may use StoreKit mechanisms and receive from Apple information about subscription or purchase status (for example, whether a subscription is active and its expiration date), without access to your payment data.
Subscription and purchase management is performed in the user's Apple ID settings.
The app has buttons for reporting an error in educational content or for submitting a solution that did not pass automatic verification. Reports are submitted only upon your explicit action. You may choose not to submit a report.
When pressed, the app generates JSON and transmits it over a secure connection (HTTPS) to the developer's server. Name, email, phone, and other contact details are not included in such JSON.
Messages are not linked to a user account and are not used to identify individual users.
The JSON may transmit:
If you submit a non-standard or disputed solution, the JSON may transmit:
Do not enter personal data, passwords, access keys, or other confidential information unrelated to the task in your code.
Reports are processed on the server used for the SwiftFun app.
If submission fails due to lack of connection or a network error, the report may be temporarily stored on the device until successful submission or until the app is deleted.
The server and communication channel may automatically record technical transmission data, such as IP address and request time, to the extent necessary to ensure security and infrastructure diagnostics.
Received reports are used exclusively to fix content, configure solution verification, and improve the app.
Reports are stored on the server for no more than 24 months from the date of receipt, unless longer retention is required by law.
Messages sent through the in-app feedback form are retained for no longer than 24 months, unless a longer retention period is required by law or reasonably necessary to resolve a specific user inquiry.
Upon user request, we will try to delete a saved report if it can be unambiguously identified and if deletion does not conflict with legal requirements.
Users may voluntarily send a message to the developer through the in-app feedback form.
When sent, the message is transmitted over a secure connection (HTTPS) to the developer's server.
We do not require you to provide your name, email address, phone number, or other contact details. Do not include personal data, passwords, access keys, or other confidential information in your messages.
Messages are used exclusively to handle user inquiries, fix errors, and improve the app.
Received messages are not used for advertising, marketing, or tracking purposes.
SwiftFun does not sell users' personal data, does not use it for third-party targeted advertising, and does not use user data for tracking for advertising or marketing purposes.
Information is processed only to the extent necessary for:
We do not transfer users' personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.
Processing may involve the following categories of recipients to the extent necessary for the app to function:
Transfer of data to other third parties is possible only with your explicit consent or in cases provided by law.
The app is intended for a broad audience, including for learning programming.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 through registration or separate forms in the app.
If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a child has provided us with personal data, for example by including it in solution code submitted for review, contact us at support@swiftpractice.fun or through the contacts provided in the app. We will take reasonable measures to delete such data if technically possible and not contrary to legal requirements.
Use of the app by minors is recommended with the consent of parents or legal guardians in accordance with the laws of the user's country of residence.
Depending on your place of residence, you may have the right to:
To exercise your rights, write to support@swiftpractice.fun or use the contact information provided in the app.
We will try to respond to a request within a reasonable time, usually no later than 30 calendar days.
Please note that most learning progress data is stored exclusively on your device. In such cases, data deletion may be performed by the user independently by deleting the app or clearing its data.
The developer may be located in Canada.
If you use the app from another country, some data, such as error reports, may be processed and stored in Canada or in other countries where the infrastructure providers used are located.
We take reasonable measures to protect such data in accordance with this privacy policy.
We take reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect data, taking into account the nature of the app and the volume of information processed.
However, no method of transmitting data over the internet and no method of electronic storage of information can guarantee absolute security.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer does not control the actions of third parties, including Apple and infrastructure providers, and is not liable for consequences caused by their actions or inaction.
The developer is also not liable for the transmission by the user of personal or confidential data in solution code, task responses, or other content that the user voluntarily submits through the app's feedback features.
Nothing in this policy limits user rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
We may periodically update this privacy policy.
In the event of material changes, we may notify users through the app or by other available means.
The current version of the policy is published within the app and at the address specified in App Store Connect.
The effective date and version number are indicated at the beginning of the document.
Continued use of the app after a new version of the policy takes effect means the user's agreement with the updated document, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada where applicable, without prejudice to mandatory data protection rules in force in the user's country of residence.
For questions related to this privacy policy, data processing, and the exercise of your rights, you may contact the developer at support@swiftpractice.fun, as well as through the contact information provided in the app and in the app's listing on the App Store.
Users may also use the in-app feedback form to send messages to the developer.
