Great to see our Growth team taking root outside of the DACH region.
AURELIUS Growth has been in Benelux for more than 100 days. Time for a first look back with Irfan Sabotic, who joined us as Managing Director to build our presence in the region, working from Amsterdam alongside the AURELIUS Midmarket team. Irfan talks about how advisors and entrepreneurs have responded so far, why Buy & Build fits a market where many SME owners are facing succession challenges or want to scale, and what they value most in a long-term partner. For him, our operational focus and evergreen structure make all the difference, along with the people and culture he discovered at AURELIUS Growth. He also looks ahead, fto the first deal to a growing team. Read the full interview in "100 Days AURELIUS Growth in Benelux" below.

AURELIUS reposted this
“I see very few pessimists in business who are rich”, is what Larry Fink just said in conversation with Ola Kaellenius. Great way to get this year’s Berlin Global Dialogue started with an appeal to approach the future with optimism. The AURELIUS team is looking forward to the coming two days.

Simplifying complexity. Transforming operations. Building better businesses. These were the central themes of AURELIUS’ annual London Portfolio Evening, which brought together more than 200 mid-market professionals to discuss how operational transformation is unlocking value across the portfolio. The discussions extended into an afterparty - spot the evidence! Key takeaways from the evening included: ▪️ Complexity creates opportunity. Founding Partner Dirk Markus explained that today's environment of permavolatility presents challenges but also opportunities, which is where AURELIUS’ approach comes into its own: managing complexity has been part of AURELIUS’ DNA for more than 20 years, with operational excellence more important than ever in building resilient, successful businesses. ▪️ Operational expertise is the differentiator. AURELIUS is now 430+ people strong, including more than 200 operational specialists within AURELIUS WaterRise. The team has the in-house capabilities to simplify complex businesses, improve performance and accelerate sustainable growth. Tristan Nagler, Partner and Head of AURELIUS Investment Advisory, explained that this operational focus remains central to the firm's investment approach, which now spans more than €5 billion in assets under management. ▪️ Transformation in action. WaterRise team members shared examples of the AURELIUS playbook helping to deliver results: restoring profitability at industrial product and tool distributor Cromwell; targeting double-digit EBITDA growth at IT and multi-specialist distributor Exertis Ireland through operational improvements; and simplifying the Sensus International and EYKON metering businesses to focus on core markets, products and growth opportunities. ▪️ Flexible capital makes a difference. AURELIUS Finance Company's Head Karun Dhir highlighted a record year for deployment, and school uniform maker Trutex Ltd shared how a pragmatic and constructive financing partnership “showing a different level of flexibility” than others helped the business navigate a challenging period and transition to new ownership earlier this year. ▪️ New avenues for growth. New Business Services Partners Dr. Marc Arens and Timo Lieber outlined AURELIUS' expanding focus on Business Services, targeting companies where operational complexity creates opportunities for systematic improvement, growth and value creation. With nearly €1 billion of dry powder available for investment, AURELIUS remains well positioned to capitalise on opportunities across the mid-market, combining financial strength with the operational expertise to turn complexity into competitive advantage. Thank you to our portfolio leaders, speakers and guests for an engaging evening.

The evening began with a tour of Arnaldo Pomodoro’s works at Gallerie d’Italia, followed by drinks and canapés at VOCE in Giardino. Thanks to everyone who attended and shared the evening with us.

Our 40th WaterRise meeting took place last week - this time in gritty, industrial Manchester/UK. It was great to see everyone again, exchange case studies and war stories, and catch up personally. It is a tradition at these events to take a tour of a nearby portfolio company. FOOTASYLUM's Sharp Studio and Warehouse, with its recently erected AutoStore™ storage facility, blew our minds. Thank you Footasylum team for your hospitality and a well organised, very impressive morning. A shout-out also to Alexandra Pfeifer and Nisha M. for organising an excellent event. Thank you Aurelians for making the journey. On to the Christmas party in December.
