Index helps the most ambitious entrepreneurs turn bold ideas into global businesses.

About us

Index Ventures partners with exceptional entrepreneurs – those with unique insight who are intrinsically driven to make their vision a reality. We help them turn their bold ideas into global businesses, and through the companies they build, have a long-lasting and positive impact on the world around us. Index-backed businesses are supported by an experienced team of investors, strategists, and an extensive global network built over three decades of startup investing. Working side-by-side through the scale up journey, we forge deep and long-lasting relationships with founders and their teams. The vast majority of these partnerships begin early in the company’s life, at Seed and Series A, and extend to IPO and beyond. Operating as one team, with feet firmly on both sides of the Atlantic – from London to Tel Aviv, and San Francisco to New York – we are an international team with a global mindset, with experience supporting founders wherever they emerge. When they succeed, they generate returns that in turn support Index’s investors, including non-profit foundations; education, healthcare and research endowments; and other impact-driven organizations.

Congrats duvo.ai on your Series A today! We’re thrilled to keep backing Tomáš Čupr. Our partnership goes back years, to Tomáš’s first company, Rohlik.cz.  What stood out then was his deep operational knowledge and relentless execution, and we’re seeing both again at Duvo. In under a year, Duvo has become the platform companies run their operations on, unlocking over $100M in value for their customers. The next chapter is going to be fun to watch. Congrats to the whole team & and thrilled to be joined by our friends at Balderton, Credo and Northzone!

We've raised $32M in Series A funding to become the one platform enterprises run their operations on. 🚀 Led by Balderton, with participation from Index Ventures, Northzone and Credo Ventures, this brings our total funding to $48M and fuels our global expansion. McKinsey sizes the long-term potential of generative AI at $4.4 trillion a year in added productivity. Most of it sits in the same place: every enterprise has hidden money trapped in broken processes, disconnected systems and manual work. We're building the Enterprise Execution OS to release it. One platform where people and AI agents run operations together. We map how work actually happens, improve it, and automate it across existing systems. In weeks, not years. And we've already delivered over $100M in annualized impact across dozens of enterprises. Our mission is simple: raise the GDP of every employee. Unlock every business's working intelligence and empower people to create more value. A huge thank you to our customers, investors, partners and the entire Duvo team who got us here. The next chapter starts now. And we're just getting started. 🌎 Know a Jane? Tag them below. 👇 #SeriesA #EnterpriseAI #Duvo

Excited to back Tomáš again as duvo.ai raises a $32M Series A. This is the third time we’ve had the chance to work with Tomáš. First at Rohlik Group, then at Duvo’s seed ten months ago, and now again. He built Rohlik into a €1.5B+ business and took his biggest learnings from that experience to start Duvo, with the mission of raising the GDP of every employee. Congrats Tomáš & team!

  • Outside of software engineering, today’s agents are largely still tools inside human-run workflows. You prompt them, they complete a task, and they stop. Hone is building AI that owns entire business outcomes instead. Given a role like procurement coordinator or outbound rep, its Engine explores the company’s systems, studies past work, and writes its own skills and tools. It’s tested against prior decisions before going live, improves with every correction, and acts on events rather than waiting for prompts. They’re led by an incredible founding team: Moritz Stephan, Oliver Brady, and Carlo Kobe. Moritz was a beloved engineer at Cognition, where he helped build the core of Devin, led much of the company’s long-horizon agent work, and later served as Chief of Staff. Oliver was an early engineer at Harvey before helping build Mercor’s enterprise effort, earning a reputation as a talent magnet. Carlo is a Thiel Fellow who left Harvard to co-found Fizz with Moritz, then led the company as CEO for several years. As LLMs handle ever-longer and more complex tasks, we believe value will accrue to whoever owns the layer between the model and the enterprise. Together with our friends at Benchmark, we’re thrilled to partner with Moritz, Oliver, Carlo, and the Hone team as they build it.

We’re not quantum experts, but we are experts in entrepreneurship. And the Oratomic team embodies the traits that define the very best founders: the intensity, the conviction, the obsession, and the drive. For 30 years, quantum computing has been 10 years away. Error correction, the key to a useful machine, was expected to take millions of qubits. But earlier this year, the brilliant team behind Oratomic published quantum’s version of “Attention Is All You Need,” finding that a useful quantum computer needs only about 10,000 qubits. It’s a group multiple people have described to us as the “Avengers of quantum.” The co-founders include Dolev Bluvstein, who led the first error-corrected quantum algorithms; Manuel Endres who developed the neutral-atom arrays at the heart of that approach; John Preskill, one of the pioneers of fault-tolerant quantum computing; and Hsin-Yuan (Robert) Huang, whose theoretical work maps out what large quantum computers can do. Alongside them are Madelyn Cain, who has worked across experiment and theory to make error correction practical, and Qian Xu, who developed the high-rate codes that make it dramatically cheaper. Now they’re adding optical, mechanical, and software engineers to turn the design into a working machine. The chemistry is palpable: everyone is fully bought in and talks about the computer as a matter of when, not if. We believe Oratomic has the makings of one of the most consequential companies of its generation, with the potential to change how we understand and interact with the physical world. We’re thrilled to partner with them as they build the first utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer. Our partner Martin Mignot wrote more about our investment in Oratomic. Our Co-founder and CEO, Bar Winkler took the stage at Bits & Pretzels alongside Sahir Azam, Partner at Index Ventures and former CPO of MongoDB. They discussed some of the choices we’ve made differently while scaling Wonderful: staying flat to maintain talent density, betting on great local hires over fixed playbooks, and applying lessons across seemingly unrelated markets. If you're in Germany - come build with us.

  • Team messaging hasn't been meaningfully reinvented in years, despite being where the real work of a company happens: decisions get made, expertise gets shared, and increasingly, agents get put to work. Most AI-native tools bolt an assistant onto that mess. Ando starts from scratch. Sara Du and her team have rebuilt messaging around three layers: an agent execution layer governing how agents perceive and act inside conversations, a human messaging layer that treats composing a message and searching for an answer as the same action, and a memory layer that tags context at creation so it's retrievable later. Agents aren't bots at the edges here, they're first-class members of the workspace, with the identity, permissions and context to actually participate. Index Partners Sofia Dolfe and Sahir Azam met Sara last year and were struck immediately by her ambition and her instinct for product and design, sharpened over a decade building (she dropped out of Harvard at 19 to start Alloy Automation). Her combination of ambition and polish is exactly what's needed to build the connective tissue for how humans and agents will work together. We’re excited to support Ando’s $20M seed round and look forward to what’s ahead for Sara and the whole Ando team. https://lnkd.in/gS6QruW9

  • Is the old cybersecurity model breaking? Our partner Shardul Shah joined Rebecca Bellan on TechCrunch's Equity podcast to discuss the permanent, resilient need for security, and how enterprises should be thinking about it in the AI era. They dug into: 💡 Why defense must be continuous and machine-to-machine 💡 The growing case for AI-native security platforms like 7AI 💡 The cyber insurance layer (think Coalition, Inc.) every board needs 💡 How new entrants like NewCore and Frame Security are reshaping categories 💡 Wiz as a talent factory, spawning exciting startups around the world 💡 Why we invest early and double down on founders like Joon at Simile … and a lot more. • Congratulations to the Ferry Health team on their $9M raise! 🎉 We've been struck by how the team turned a deeply personal, frustrating experience navigating healthcare for a family member into a product that's already helping over a million patients get the care they need -- without the endless phone tag. Proud to support Mehul, Keyur, Andrew, and the entire team on this journey.

    View profile for Mehul Mehta

In May of 2023, Keyur Mehta and I got a call from Mom saying Dad was in the hospital. We both rushed home to Austin. Three days later, Dad was discharged and we were relieved to be back home, armed with a long list of follow-up care to organize. We logged in to Dad’s insurance portal, pulled up the “Find a Doctor” directory, and compiled a spreadsheet of every neurologist, cardiologist, and physical therapist in Austin. We started calling providers’ offices and encountered a tangled mess. Incorrect phone numbers, retired providers, and even a practice with a >1-year waitlist. Our difficulty navigating the healthcare system for Dad is unfortunately not unique. In fact, every single person we’ve talked to on this journey - patients, team members, customers - has experienced their own version of it. We started Ferry Health to make navigating healthcare as easy as possible. Ferry’s AI-powered assistant goes beyond reminders or suggesting options for a patient to call. Ferry actually does the work for the patient - connecting patients with any provider, not just those with online scheduling. Ferry turns requests like “find me a neurologist near 78734 that can see a patient for persistent unsteadiness and vertigo” into a booked appointment in just a few messages back and forth, exactly the assistant we needed when helping Dad three years ago. Through our partnerships with health plans, health systems, and digital health companies, more than 1 million patients have access to Ferry today. It has been a dream come true to build Ferry over the last couple years. A dream to co-found this business with my brother Keyur and one of my best friends, Andrew Buie. A dream to work with our incredibly talented team of 30. And, most of all, a dream to hear the feedback we get from patients every single day. As a patient recently told us, “Well, since I didn't have to do anything to get scheduled, it was great. 5/5.” Today, we are excited to share that we’ve raised $9M in funding from my former colleagues at Andreessen Horowitz as well as Index Ventures, Avid Ventures, Layout Ventures, and more. Thank you to Anastassia Gliadkovskaya for telling our story - a link to her coverage in the comments below!
