The UK Parliamentary Football Club came out on top today in an evenly contested 5-3 win over Prostate United, representing Prostate Cancer UK. Parliamentarians on the winning side included Chris Vince MP, Gregor Poynton MP, Lord Graham Evans and Jonathan Hinder MP, who stole the headlines with a long-range stunner early in the second half. Both sides had a great game supporting a very worthwhile cause. If you'd be interested in arranging a fixture against the UKPFC, we'd love to hear from you. https://lnkd.in/eNkEAFjy

"The British public, they're pretty smart. They know what's going on. They might not know who John Healey is, but they know where their money goes." One week out from John Healey’s first Budget, what does the public really want from it? As we do before every major political moment, we teamed up with YouGov this morning to unveil brand-new polling, unpacked by a brilliant panel in our events space. Patrick English, Head of Elections and Political and Social Data, YouGov Molly Fluet, Global Director, YouGov Daisy Cooper MP, Deputy Leader and Treasury Spokesperson, Liberal Democrats Sam Coates, Deputy Political Editor, Sky News Helen Miller, Director, Institute For Fiscal Studies The big takeaway? Voters want a cost of living Budget. Fiscal headroom, the phrase dominating Westminster’s Budget conversation, barely registers with the public. Thank you to our panel and everyone who joined us. The iNHouse team is proud to have supported Glen Earrach Energy in reaching this hugely important milestone. From delivering an extensive programme of community and stakeholder engagement, to media support throughout the process, to working on GEE’s industry-first community wealth fund commitment, we are delighted to see the project go from strength to strength. This positive decision is a testament to the hard work of the various teams involved in the project, and to the strong ethos of care for the communities and landscape that surround it.
Today, The Highland Council agreed to raise no objection to Glen Earrach Energy’s proposed pumped storage hydro project at Balmacaan, above Loch Ness. The decision is an important step forward for Glen Earrach, following more than two and a half years of consultation, engagement and detailed environmental assessment. Roderick MacLeod, Director of Glen Earrach Energy, said: “We are extremely grateful to members of The Highland Council for their support today. This is an important moment for Glen Earrach and for everyone who has worked with us to develop the project over the past two and a half years. “From the outset, our ambition has been to develop a project that is from the Highlands, for the Highlands. That has meant listening carefully, making changes where we could and taking seriously our responsibility to the landscape, environment and communities around Loch Ness. “Glen Earrach is the only pumped storage hydro project proposed on Loch Ness to have reached this stage without an objection from any statutory consultees. This reflects the considerable work that has gone into the project and the constructive engagement we have had throughout its development. “Glen Earrach is a major opportunity for the Highlands. It can create jobs and investment, deliver lasting benefits for local communities and provide nationally important energy infrastructure that will serve Scotland for generations. “There is still more work to do as the application progresses, and we will continue to work closely with local communities, The Highland Council, statutory bodies and the Scottish Government. Today’s support is an important step forward, and one we do not take for granted.” #GlenEarrachEnergy #PumpedStorageHydro #Highlands #Energy
