Resilience is often asked of people who are already carrying more, and the organisations around them benefit from it. Does this sound familiar? 👀 Join Asad Dhunna, Founder & CEO of The Unmistakables at Outvertising Live for a session reframing resilience as something we can build together, and not something individuals are expected to absorb alone. In this interactive session you'll also receive a take-home workbook to help you reflect on how you respond under pressure and identify the people who steady you. 3 weeks to go! Our mission is to drive LGBTQIA+ representation and inclusion in UK advertising and marketing.
About us
Outvertising is the LGBTQIA+ advocacy group for UK advertising and marketing. We operate not-for-profit, and are completely volunteer-run by LGBTQIA+ people and allies from our industry. Our mission is to drive LGBTQIA+ representation and inclusion in UK advertising and marketing. Firstly, we want to see the LGBTQIA+ community represented more frequently, more centrally, and more authentically in ads and other types of marketing communications. As well as reaching the community by supporting queer media, we want these campaigns to be seen by all, using responsible media channels that are making strides to combat anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric and sentiment. Secondly, in order for this work to thrive and multiply, we need an advertising and marketing industry that is inclusive and equitable for LGBTQIA+ people, an industry where queer people can thrive and succeed, which will in turn enable more queer-inclusive work. Because in a challenging social and political climate for LGBTQIA+ people, we believe that frequent and authentic representation in advertising and marketing has the potential to create positive societal change, whilst also unlocking positive business effects for brands. Follow us and connect with our team to find out how you can do your part to make UK advertising and marketing fully inclusive for all. www.outvertising.org

In 2018, standing on a Cannes stage, I made an argument that felt provocative at the time: LGBTQ+ talent isnt a diversity initiative. It's a commercial necessity. My premise was simple: an industry built on originality, perspective and nonconformity depends on people who see the world differently. Difference isn't something to be accommodated. It's one of the most potent sources of our creativity and competitive advantage. Eight years later, we're in a very different climate. Delighted to have been invited by Dan Cox and Tash Beecher to deliver the closing keynote at Outvertising Live this year. I'll be returning to that original argument and putting it to the test. Was it true then? Is it still true now? I believe it is. Not because inclusion is fashionable, but because difference remains one of the most powerful strategic assets any business can possess. I look forward to seeing you there.#OutvertisingLive #Leadership #Strategy #Creativity #LGBTQ #Inclusion Tickets here : https://lnkd.in/gn8cBVnU

Resilience comes in many forms, and is getting tested more and more at the minute. I'm hosting a workshop at next month's Outvertising Live that's focused on going from the 'me' to the 'we' of building resilience. It's as much about the personal skills as it is teams and communities coming together. I've been told there are a few tickets left, so if you want to come along this is your chance: https://lnkd.in/ensG_qpG

A brilliant first interview for our new CEO, Tash Beecher, in The Media Leader UK! Tash set out a clear vision for Outvertising’s next chapter: one rooted in intersectionality, creativity and the belief that inclusive advertising is not only the right thing to do, but a commercial superpower. From moving beyond one-dimensional representation, to making sure LGBTQIA+ inclusion is present year-round rather than parked in Pride month, Tash’s message is clear: better inclusion leads to better work, better culture and better business. Huge thanks to Charli W. and The Media Leader for the conversation. Read the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/dCcKAqWp

33 billion reasons to get our pronouns right 🌈 For National Inclusion Week, we’re taking the case for LGBTQIA+ inclusion to streets across the UK. Created with Hijinks, we've launched a new campaign that uses a little queer joy, some big numbers and four bold headlines to make a simple point: inclusion is good for people, culture and business. And a special thank you to our friends at JCDecaux UK Community Channel and BUILDHOLLYWOOD for their support. Check out LBBonline - Little Black Book for the scoop: https://lnkd.in/ePXv3rY5

We’ve got a new CEO ❤️🌈 We’re delighted to announce Tash Beecher(she/her) as the new CEO of Outvertising. Tash is no stranger to Outvertising. For the past two years she’s been our Creative Co-Director, and now becomes the next leader to take on the CEO role. Her ambition for this next chapter is clear: to make Outvertising a champion of creative intersectionality, with a particular focus on Black and Brown LGBTQIA+ inclusion, while strengthening our influence across the industry and wider culture. She’ll also build on the work already happening across Outvertising, from the Advocacy Playbook and Mentoring Programme to Outvertising Live. As Tash says: “We have the power and a responsibility in our industry to ensure that diverse thinking and inclusion in all forms is upheld as the truest measure of creativity.” We’re very excited for what comes next. Welcome, Tash! Read more about the news here: https://lnkd.in/e-ZP_jeG

Today, we say goodbye to our brilliant CEO, Chris Dunne. They say you can’t do it all, but our fearless leader clearly didn’t get the memo. For more than two years, Chris has led our brilliant crew of volunteers through a challenging period for the LGBTQIA+ community, while making Outvertising stronger, sharper and more ambitious. Under his leadership, The Advocacy Playbook became a practical blueprint for turning good intentions into meaningful action across our industry. Outvertising Live grew into a major moment in the advertising calendar- independently financed and bringing some of the most important conversations in ad land to the stage. But Chris’s biggest impact has always been on people. He has championed our community, made sure the voices around the table were heard and led with the warmth and approachability that has earned him huge respect across the industry. Chris, thank you for leaving Outvertising stronger, louder and ready for what comes next. We’ll miss you, but we promise to keep the party going. Here’s to your next chapter! And as for ours… more on that VERY soon 😉 - Team Outvertising
