And show you how to build a prompt tracking strategy properly. 📌 Save your free spot ↓ https://lnkd.in/gGqC3dEx Most brands track a few hundred prompts they guessed. In 60 minutes, we'll cover: 1️⃣ How to build a stronger prompt set ↳ Category, comparison, journey-stage, and high-intent prompts 2️⃣ How to find the gaps in your current tracking ↳ The questions your buyers ask that you're not measuring 3️⃣ How to see where competitors are winning ↳ The AI answers where another brand gets recommended instead of you Everyone who joins also gets exclusive access to Prompt Universe. • Most teams track the prompts buyers ask last. Not the ones they ask first... Branded prompts feel like the obvious place to start. But by the time someone types your name into ChatGPT, they were already coming. The real decisions happen earlier, before your buyer knows your name. Sometimes even before they know your category exists. Tomorrow, JP and Chris are running a free masterclass on exactly this. If you want to know which prompts to track and why, register here ↓ https://lnkd.in/gsHGbPK6 Among other topics, we’ll cover the 3 types of prompts we track at Searchable 👇 1️⃣ Branded: they already know your name - "Is [your brand] any good?" - "[Your brand] vs [competitor]" - "[Your brand] pricing" What it tells you: Whether AI describes you accurately. The limit: These buyers were already coming. 2️⃣ Category: they know the solution, not who provides it - "Best [category] tool for a small team" - "[Category] software compared" - "Alternatives to [competitor]" What it tells you: Whether you make the shortlist when someone is actively choosing. The limit: AI names four or more brands, and you either appear or you don't. 3️⃣ Problem: they haven't named a solution yet - "Why is our [process] taking so long?" - "How do I stop [problem] happening every month?" - "What should a team our size do about [issue]?" What it tells you: Whether you're in the answer before anyone knows a product category exists for it. The limit: Buyers spend most of their search here, and almost nobody tracks it. Most teams track: ➡️ Branded prompts ➡️ A handful of category prompts ➡️ One engine When they should be tracking: ✅ Problem prompts first ✅ Category prompts when buyers are choosing ✅ Multiple engines, separately Branded prompts still matter, but they're the end of the journey. Not the whole of it. Track only your name, and you'll never see the buyers who chose someone else before they'd heard of you. 📌 If you want to get out ahead of prompt targeting and strategy, be sure to save your spot in the master class tomorrow ↓ https://lnkd.in/gyBB4WRA It's online, completely free and starting at 4 pm London / 11 am New York! Plus, everyone who joins gets exclusive access to Prompt Universe, so be sure to grab your seat!

  • What was the last thing you asked ChatGPT? We put the question to the team at BrightonSEO 👇 We spend every day studying how people search with AI. Turns out our own search history is a lot less serious. Some answers were about work... Some were very much not. One involved getting Searchable merch made for dogs. 🐶 (Shoutout Kiki!) We stand by it. Thanks to everyone who came to say hello at BrightonSEO. We had a great few days, and an even better look at what everyone's been asking AI when nobody's watching. So, what's the last thing YOU asked ChatGPT? Be honest 😁

  • Brands are tracking a few hundred prompts they don't know are right or wrong. The real number could be thousands, or tens of thousands... Which is exactly why we built Prompt Universe. We saw brands and agencies struggling to get a clear picture of the prompts they should be tracking. So we created a map to fix it. Not only does it show you the exact questions your buyers ask AI in your category, but it also tells you which ones are worth tracking, ranked by commercial priority. We recorded a full YouTube video on how it works ↓ https://lnkd.in/gQc4evgC But in the meantime, here's a quick overview of the tool 👇 1️⃣ It starts with your business, not a prompt or keyword list Every Prompt Universe begins with a detailed evaluation of: - Your industry - Your products - Your audiences - Your competitors - Your buyer personas Then it gives you the questions your buyers ask AI search, built for your market. 2️⃣ Every question is sorted two ways 1. By core topic, so you see the shape of your category 2. By buyer journey, whether they're learning, comparing, or ready to buy A buyer still figuring out what they want asks a different question from one ready to pay, and your tracking should know the difference. 3️⃣ Your whole market becomes one map - The real questions, in the structure your buyers ask them - The prompts worth tracking, weighted by commercial priority - The gaps, where your category is being answered without you in it Keep tracking guessed prompts, and your visibility score can look healthy while competitors own the answers your buyers actually read. The goal isn't to track every prompt. It's to see all of them, then pick the ones that truly matter. Want to know what your Prompt Universe looks like? On Tuesday, 20 October, Chris and JP are running a free 60-minute masterclass on prompt targeting and strategy. They'll show you how to build a prompt set around what your buyers ask, spot the gaps in what you're tracking today, and see where competitors are winning. And everyone who joins gets exclusive access to Prompt Universe! Spots are still available, but they will fill up fast! If you're ready to upgrade your prompt strategy, join us online: Tuesday 20 October 4 pm London/11 am New York 📌 Save your free spot ↓ https://lnkd.in/gqvh9i_G

  • Your brand shows up when people ask AI about you by name. That doesn't mean AI always recommends you... Branded prompts can tell you how AI describes your brand. But they don't tell you whether you're in the answer when buyers are choosing. Your buyers don't start with your name. - They ask about the category. - They compare options. - They ask which tool fits their team, their budget, their problem. That's where recommendations happen, and it tends to be where most prompt tracking falls short. We're hosting a free 60-minute masterclass on prompt targeting and strategy to solve that. 📌 Register for free ↓ https://lnkd.in/gyb8fAQX It's the first session in our new AI search series. Here's what we'll cover 👇 1️⃣ How to build a stronger prompt set ↳ Category prompts ↳ Comparison prompts ↳ Journey-stage prompts ↳ High-intent prompts 2️⃣ How to find the gaps in your current tracking ↳ Spot the questions your buyers ask that you're not measuring. 3️⃣ How to see where competitors are winning ↳ Find the AI answers where another brand gets recommended instead of you. Plus, everyone who registers also gets exclusive access to Prompt Universe, our new tool that maps the wider question space around your brand and category. Tracking more prompts isn't the answer to your problems. Tracking the right ones is. This webinar will teach you exactly how. Join us Tuesday, 20 October at 4 pm BST/11 am EST It's free to join! If you only track your brand name, you'll never see the answers you're missing. 📌 Save your spot ↓ https://lnkd.in/gyb8fAQX

ChatGPT referral traffic fell 65% last week. And this week it's already back... Here's what actually happened 👇 On Thursday 8 October, GPT-6 stopped tagging outbound ChatGPT links. Every visit that should have shown up as chatgpt.com landed as direct traffic instead. Across the 200+ sites reporting into our connector, tagged visits sat roughly 65% below normal for seven days. The buyers were still clicking, but tracking had stopped. On Thursday 15 October, OpenAI put the tags back. By 2 pm Pacific the same day, the gap had closed to 27%. A few hours later, it's back to normal. Our real-time AI referral tracker (shoutout to Arran Dyer who built it) confirmed the recovery within hours. GA4 would have shown the same picture a day or more later, which gave us a full day's head start. This won't be the last time something like this happens. AI platforms change without notice, and there's still no shared standard for how they attribute referrals. So next time your AI traffic falls off a cliff: 1️⃣ Check your direct traffic ↳ If it rose as AI referrals fell, the visits might have been relabelled. 2️⃣ Compare before you conclude ↳ A sharp drop hitting every page at once points to a platform change, not your content. 3️⃣ Don't react to the first chart ↳ Rewriting your strategy off a tracking error costs more than waiting a few days. 4️⃣ Track referrals in real time ↳ The faster you see the recovery, the fewer wrong decisions you make in between. And remember: If a drop doesn't make sense, it's very likely an error. 📌 If you want to track your visibility in real-time, book a demo with Searchable ↓ https://lnkd.in/g5RSG_Fp And comment below with your take on this latest AI search plot twist!

  • ADWEEK has named Searchable one of the 11 best-funded startups racing to win AI search. Last year's list didn't include us, since we hadn't even launched... This year, we're one of the new entrants making their mark. The piece covers what's happened since: - $18M raised across two rounds - Our acquisition of Meridian, a New York-based AI search visibility startup - The launch of Prompt Universe - Helping more than 2,000 brands and agencies get out ahead of AI search As Chris put it in the piece, "I've never seen an industry move as fast as this one." Today, our agent reads a brand's data, writes the content and prepares the technical fixes. Next, it makes those changes itself and reports back on how they moved the answer. Thanks to ADWEEK and Kendra Barnett for including us. Read the full piece ↓ https://lnkd.in/gkUws6yA

  • That's BrightonSEO done. Thank you to everyone who came by Booth 25 across the two days. The free visibility audits were the busiest part of the stand, and the pattern was hard to miss. Almost everyone who sat down already suspected they were invisible in AI answers. What they didn't have was the reason, or the order to fix things in. Seeing it on screen, engine by engine, tends to settle that in about ninety seconds. Prompt Universe got the other half of the attention. Watching someone realise their 200-prompt tracking list covers a fraction of their actual question space is a good way to start a conversation. Chris spoke on Thursday about what a billion AI sources and citations tell us about how brands get named in answers. JP moderated the Skyline stage across the event. Thank you to the BrightonSEO team for having us 🙏 If we missed you, you can still run a free AI visibility report and see exactly where you stand ↓ https://lnkd.in/gC_v2D_z

  • You're tracking 200 prompts. Prompt Universe shows you the 1000s you're not... It's the complete map of meaningful questions your buyers ask AI search in your category. Not the ones you've managed to find, but all of them. We've put together a short video showing how one gets built ↓ https://lnkd.in/gB4jF53K It starts with a detailed evaluation of your business, including your whole industry, down to your products, audiences, competitors, and buyer personas. What comes out is the set of questions your buyers actually ask AI search, built for your market rather than lifted from a keyword tool. Every question is then sorted into clusters by core topic, and by where the buyer sits in their journey. So you see your whole market mapped out, and you can find the prompts worth tracking, weighted by commercial priority. The goal is better coverage. Tracking 10,000 questions nobody asks before buying tells you less than tracking 200 that sit at the point of decision. The universe shows you the full space. The weighting tells you which slice of it is worth your attention. 🪐 Watch the full breakdown on YouTube here ↓ https://lnkd.in/gB4jF53K 📌 And to see your own Prompt Universe, click here ↓ https://lnkd.in/gS7i6atE

  • There's more advice about AI search than data on it. We've audited 1000s of sites to get real answers: Recycled advice is why teams are still not appearing in AI responses. Someone posts a tip about schema, and 400 people repeat it without verifying. 📌 Grab a free AI Visibility Report to get real data on your brand’s search status ↓ https://lnkd.in/g6H-Yvmt Then read on for the advice we tell everyone who works with us 👇 1. Track the prompts buyers type ↳ Buyers ask full questions with context attached. Volume data was never built to show you that. 2. Publish when you have something original to say ↳ Cadence is a habit, not a strategy. AI has already read the version everyone else published. 3. Put the answer in the first 40 words ↳ The intros you were taught to write are now hiding your answers. 4. Write short blocks AI can lift cleanly ↳ Prose that flows for a human is often too dense to extract. 5. Publish data nobody else has ↳ A better version of an existing page is still a summary. Original data is what survives. 6. Name authors with real credentials ↳ No author means no authorship signal. It's the cheapest credibility signal you're leaving on the table. 7. Earn references that describe what you do ↳ Links get you retrieved, and sentences get you quoted. You need both, but most teams only build one. 8. Check how AI describes your brand ↳ Ranking first tells you nothing about what the model says when someone asks. 9. Verify GPTBot and PerplexityBot access ↳ These aren't Googlebot. Blocked crawlers mean zero chance of citation. 10. Validate Article, FAQ and Organisation markup ↳ Installing it isn't implementing it. 11. Update the stats, examples and terminology ↳ Changing the date without changing the content is obvious. 12. Report on citation share ↳ Your ranking report and your citation report are two different documents. These don't carry equal weight. Get crawler access or schema wrong, and nothing else gets read. Fix those first, then work through the list. Both columns take work, but only one of them ends up inside the answer. 📌 See how the top AI platforms currently describe your brand ↓ https://lnkd.in/g6H-Yvmt And save this for your next SEO planning session.
