Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how UnToxic (“UnToxic,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) processes information when you use our mobile application or website. UnToxic is an AI dating assistant that suggests dating app replies, improves profiles, and flags toxic messages for mobile daters.

UnToxic is an independent dating assistant and is not affiliated with Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, Match, or other dating platforms unless separately stated.

In brief: Screenshots and messages you choose to submit for AI analysis are securely transmitted through our servers to OpenAI's API. We delete uploaded screenshots from our systems after processing and do not maintain a permanent server-side history of your AI conversations. OpenAI processes submitted content under its separate API data policies, described below.

Information We Process

• Screenshots and photos: Images you voluntarily submit for reply suggestions, opening messages, profile feedback, photo feedback, captions, or analysis of potentially concerning messages. Images may contain usernames, faces, message content, and information about other people.
• Chat text: Text, pasted conversations, and messages you submit for AI-generated advice and responses. Submitted text is transmitted for processing, but we do not maintain a permanent server-side conversation history.
• Local preferences and history: App settings, such as language, appearance, and dating goals, and any locally saved conversation history are stored on your device. UnToxic does not maintain a user-account database for these preferences.
• Subscription information: Purchases are handled by Apple and subscription entitlements are managed through RevenueCat. These providers may process purchase records, subscription status, and technical identifiers. We do not receive your credit card number.
• Website and technical information: Our website and hosting infrastructure may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, browser details, timestamps, and security logs, as necessary to deliver and protect the site. Any additional analytics or cookie-based tracking, if enabled, is subject to applicable disclosure and consent requirements.
• Support inquiries: If you email us, we receive the email address and information you include in your message so that we can respond.

You do not need to create an UnToxic account or provide a name, email address, or telephone number to use the app's AI features. However, content you choose to upload may itself contain personal information.

How We Use Information

• Analyze submitted screenshots, photographs, and text to generate AI-powered replies, openers, profile suggestions, photo feedback, and dating guidance.
• Provide the specific AI response requested by the user.
• Verify subscription access and provide paid features through Apple and RevenueCat.
• Maintain service functionality, protect our infrastructure, respond to support requests, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell uploaded conversations or screenshots, and we do not use them to train our own AI models.

OpenAI API and Third-Party Services

OpenAI API: UnToxic uses OpenAI's API for AI analysis. When you submit a screenshot, image, or text, that content is sent to our servers and forwarded to OpenAI so that OpenAI can process the request and return an AI-generated result. This transfer is necessary for the requested AI feature.

By default, OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API to train or improve its models unless the API customer explicitly opts in. OpenAI may retain API content for abuse monitoring, generally for up to 30 days, subject to applicable settings, endpoint-specific retention, and legal or safety requirements. Some API features may retain application state for longer. UnToxic's deletion of uploaded content from our systems does not delete data retained independently by OpenAI.

RevenueCat: RevenueCat helps manage subscription entitlements and may process technical identifiers and subscription information. Read RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Apple: Apple processes in-app purchases under its own privacy practices. Read Apple's Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose limited information when legally required or necessary to protect the security and rights of users and our services.

Storage, Retention, and Security

• Uploaded images: Images are handled temporarily for the requested analysis and deleted from UnToxic's systems after processing. We do not keep a permanent server-side library of uploaded screenshots or photographs.
• Conversation content: We do not maintain a permanent server-side database of private AI conversations. Any conversation history saved within the app remains on your device.
• OpenAI: Submitted content may be retained separately by OpenAI as outlined above and in its API data controls.
• Local information: Locally saved app preferences and history can be removed by deleting the app and its local data.
• Other records: Purchase information is handled by Apple and RevenueCat. Website security logs and support correspondence may be retained as reasonably needed for their purposes and applicable legal obligations.

We use HTTPS to protect communication between the app and our servers and secure connections for transmission to our AI provider. No method of data processing or transmission is completely risk-free.

Your Choices and Privacy Rights

• You choose which screenshots, images, and messages to submit for AI processing. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive information or information about others that you are not authorized to share.
• You can stop submitting content for AI analysis at any time.
• You can remove locally stored app history and preferences by deleting the app and its associated device data.
• You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold, or exercise other rights available under applicable data-protection law. Because we do not retain submitted screenshots and conversation histories on our servers after processing, we generally cannot retrieve that content.
• Data handled independently by OpenAI, Apple, or RevenueCat is also subject to the respective provider's applicable data practices.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, UnToxic may schedule optional reminders locally on your device. You can manage notification permissions in iOS Settings. Local reminders do not require sending the contents of your screenshots or private conversations to our servers.

Age Eligibility and Policy Changes

UnToxic is intended for users aged 18 or older, consistent with our Terms of Use. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services, processing practices, or legal obligations. We will publish updates here with a revised date and provide additional notice where required by law.
