12/5/00 12:14AM: Mini-Review: Sin and Punishment (N64 Import)
I must admit that this review is a little biased, as I'm a huge Treasure fan. It's hard to stay impartial, but this is one amazing title. Nintendo has released this lovely little shooter-on-rails (a.k.a. Panzer Dragoon, just with a running instead of a flying character). Insane 3D-shooting action with tons of enemies, great (yet a bit complex) control, and great character and enemy design.
I haven't heard anything about one is scheduled for a US release, but it's a straight action title with all of the game's voice-overs in English, making this a prime title to import.

12/2/00 2:20PM: The December Contest is Up
Same contest, different year, the December Contest entitled "The Top 10 Games of 2000" is now officially open for business. No PS2 this time, but anniversaries only come once a year...

12/1/00 11:51PM: November Contest Answers Online
I've worked all night on the November Contest, and I'm still not done, but the answers to those five magic questions and the Honor Roll of 97 entrants who got all five questions correct are now online. Why is it taking so long? Because over 300 entries had to be thrown out due to people attempting to enter multiple times under different names to increase their chances in the tiebreaker. One person actually entered 40 different times in a five minute time span, all from the same computer, all using different names, all with the same e-mail address, all with the same wrong answers. Consequently, I've fallen behind on submissions, but I should catch up early tomorrow.

12/1/00 12:17AM: Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells...
I'm already sick of Christmas music, and there's no end in sight... The November Contest is closed, and preliminary results and answers should be announced in the next day or two, along with, yes, a December Contest. Three months in a row? Could be a trend... You'll also notice the backlog count at the bottom of the page is slowly shrinking, which means I'll hopefully have time to put up a mini-review for Sin and Punishment tomorrow, as I haven't had near enough time to play it yet.

11/30/00 12:00AM: Odds and Ends
Today (the 30th) is the last day to enter the November Contest - You have only until Midnight GMT (that's 7PM on the East Coast of the US) to enter! It's also the one-year anniversary of the Poll of the Day, so be sure and sing it "Happy Birthday". In other news, some minor board changes have been made to accommodate the increased traffic, check this topic for details.

11/29/00 10:07AM: Bugs and Glitches and Errors, Oh My!
Helpful advice: Never attempt to re-adjust your web server's settings after staying up overnight. You know, I should have learned that the last time I did that... Anyway, I think I've squashed all the bugs out there, but I could be just as wrong as I was last night. If you are seeing strange error messages on any pages on this site, please don't hesitate to report them. In good news, those settings changes should reduce the load on the server a little bit and make the search engine move quite a bit faster during peak times (afternoons and evenings).

11/26/00 12:26AM: Minor CGI Changes and Additions
A few minor upgrades over the past two days. The main board list is now split up a little more, and not all of the ''Special Interest'' boards are now shown on the main page by default. The purge schedule has been tightened up a good bit to account for the surge in new messages being posted to the boards in the past month. Finally, online Op and Room application forms are online for the chat server. Work continues on the e-mail backlog... Augh...

11/23/00 7:49PM: Happy Thanksgiving!
Ahhh, Thanksgiving... Right now, the entire nation of the US as a collective whole has enough L-tryptophan surging through its veins to make watching prime-time television almost palatable. But, I digress. Time for me to get to work, and time for you to start buying more games.

11/19/00 12:24AM: Bits and Pieces
Not much time left to enter the November Contest. I know someone out there has got to want this PlayStation2 I've got sitting around. Piracy Poll week is finally over, time to move on. Isn't it kind of ironic that 79% of visitors want to someday work in the industry that today many of them actively hurt? Anyway, expect to see some fairly big organizational changes to the site in the next few days. Hopefully, it'll all be for the best. If it's not, I'm sure I'll find out about it.
