Hey,Hazim here. Is it possible to love music too much? I don't know and I don't really care. Don't mean to sound preachy, but music's universal. Whether you're in Paris or Sydney, you're gonna shake ya ass to Outkast's "Hey Ya" and grind your hips to 50Cen'ts "In Da Club". No Paris Hilton endorsements here...

Damn. Fergie Should Be Feeling Smug Right Now...

ImageHey.Hazim here...again. Well, it's the weekends and chart statistics start rolling in and I was expecting another weekend where the fabulous NellyFurtado and Timbaland-helmed track "Promiscous" would be sitting ontop of the Billboard Hot 100...but I was wrong. It turns out Fergie's solo single from her upcoming album TheDuchess knocked her off. I really don't get this song, "London Bridge". The chorus is very similiar to Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" and there isnt much originality behind it. I think, the only reason it got to number one is because the song is sung by Fergie herself. So it's more about hype that tricks people into downloading it and blasting the song to the top spot. You won't see me bobbing my head along with it. It's redundant, repetitive, and boring. And Fergie looks waxy. Here, it's the music video for the single. If you like her, you'll love it. If you don't, you'll hate it. Guaranteed, I already hate it. I thought listening to the radio was safe when I found out ParisHilton's "Stars Are Blind" was recieving less airplay. I guess it's still not safe with "London Bridge" hogging the airwaves. Watch Outkast's New MusicVideo For "Morris Brown"!

ImageHey.Hazim here...again.

I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee Outkast...haha. BigBoi's rapping is always a highlight in every song he stars in and Andre 3000 is a musical blender spitting out hiphop, pop, rock, funk, soul, and whatever other genres of music there are out there. Psssst...I actually liked Speakerboxx better than the love below...is that a sin? Anyways, this is the video from their new song and movie. The track is called "MorrisBrown" and it takes a while to grow on you, but trust me, it will. Apparently, the new album's gonna have over 20 tracks on it. I'm so excited for this. The rapping is cool and the vocals everywhere else and all the pauses and runs in the songs are brilliant. HipHop for the new millenium...Kanye, take notes. Enjoy the video while I play it over and over again to get myself psyched for the release of the new album. The video quality is a bit fizzy, but soon it'll be playing all over the place anyways (prolly less on MTV nowadays...but there's always VH1...oh god, can't believe I just said that). Hazim.Out.

MTV VIDEOMUSIC AWARDS 2006//BEST FEMALE VIDEO

ImageMTVVIDEOMUSICAWARDS2006BESTFEMALEVIDEO
Hey.Hazim here...again. What is with you spammers? Can't you just leave me alone? Well, whatever. I'm gone for a little over a week and I get bombarded with spam comments. Anyways...the MTV VideoMusic Awards are approaching...do you care? If you do, then you prolly have your favorites. I've got my predictions and I'm gonna bet on the ones I think are winners. First up, Best Female Video. The one I think should win is NellyFurtado feat.Timbaland-Promiscous, just because she's hot and she's number one right now. Her album's selling like hotcakes and she's got both guys and girls wagging after her lapping up whatever she's giving out. Plus, Timbaland's beats are mad and the video's flirty and fun. And uh...you get to see Nelly's belly. That alone should guarantee the win. Haha...here's my input if you actually care...

Image
#1:NellyFurtado//Promiscous
Kay..let's go. I definitely think Nelly's got a majorly strong chance of swiping a moonman for this category since her song is perched ontop of multiple Billboard charts as I type this. Timbaland definitely brought out the fun sexy side of Furtado and even though MamaFurtado's gonna have to try and explain without embarassing herself what "Promiscous" means when her child's older, for now though, it's on heavy rotation on television and radio. That's more than good enough. Two years ago, noone woulda thunk NellyFurtado could threten Beyonce, Shakira, Mariah, and Gwen's throne, but look at her go now. Hell yeah! I'm crossing my fingers for her to nab it. WatchTheVideoForThisSong:ClickHere

Image#2:Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean//Hips Don't Lie
Uh...the song's not bad. It's very danceable and WyclefJean's rapping is hot, almost as hot as Shakira's vibrating and gyrating hips, but the video itself looks like it was shot with a digicam from 1899 in some dirty street alley. Granted digicams didn't exist in 1899...but the video still kinda sucks, so it's not my fave. That won't stop it from having a strong chance of winning though. With seven nominations total and it is a number one single worldwide, she'll give Furtado a run for her money, so yeah, it's number two. WatchTheVideoForThisSong:ClickHere

Image
#3:KellyClarkson//Because Of You
KellyClarkson fanatics better band together hard if they want her to win. The song is dropping off the charts after a successful run and yeah, she already won in this category last year for "Since U Been Gone". The strength of this video isn't the camera work or choreography. It's the fact Kelly gave the treatment for it based on her own childhood problems, so it's something personal for her. Could win on that and face it, It's like she never leaves the charts and her songs are never taken off the radio...she's freakin everywhere! WatchTheVideoForThisSong:ClickHere

Image#4:ChristinaAguilera//Ain't No Other Man
Can anyone tell my why the hell is this song so damn popular? The single is just damn awful. It just doesn't do it for me. I liked it better when she was dirty and this kind of stuff makes me anitcipate what kind of songs Britney'll be senfing out once she's done popping out babies. Even thought the song sucks, in the video, Christina Aguilera does something very important...she looks hot. And it's her big comeback song, so that might give her an edge added to the fact it's also nominated for VideoOfTheYear. But then again, so is Shakira's "HipsDon'tLie", so I dunno. The chances for this to win is kinda in the fog right now. WatchTheVideoForThisSong:ClickHereImage

#5:Madonna//HungUp
And in this corner we have showbiz veteran Madge/Madonna/Ester/Whatver the hell you wanna call her...but the point is, "Hung Up" is such a worse video than "Sorry" which would get my vote. But either way, it won't do that well espceially with the song out of the charts long long ago and not played on radio that often. Not much too say, and I know it's nominated for VideoOfTHeYear, but somehow, I don't see it winning unless the gay fans really stick toether like glue and push for her like hell day's tomorrow. Sorry, Madge. Je susi desole. WatchTheVideoForThisSong:ClickHere

2006 MTV Video Music Awards:Nominations Are Out. My Input? Let's Find Out How Much I Care

Heyy.Hazim here...again. Hey guys, take a deep breath. Amidst all the Madonna and MJ moments, the MTV Video Music Awards are an awards show and there are awards being handed out, which means there are nominations. How are the nominations this year? Uhh...well, I'm a bit disappointed. Shakira, Red Hot ChiiPeppers, and uh, Panic! At The Disco lead the nominations. Shakira is for guys who like hot people, the RedHotChiliPeppers are for the oldies who like wearing sock puupets over their penises, and Panic! At The Disco are for the young and growing emo population. Yep, that sums up the MTV generation. Other nominess include NellyFurtado, ChristinaAguilera, KellyClarkson, GreenDay, MariahCarey, Beyonce, MissyElliott, U2, GnarlsBarkley, NickLachey, TI, BustaRhymes, Madonna, Pink, MaryJBlige, Rihanna, JamesBlunt (eww...), AngelsAndAirwaves, AvengeSevenfold, AFI, 30 Seconds To Mars (Jared Leto's band, by the way), ThePussycatDolls, TheAllAmericanRejects, FallOutBoy, SeanPaul, Timbaland, WyclefJean, Papoose, and more. What I'll do is post videos for each category on who I think should win, ya? So, remember, it's an awards show...so I'm wondering what absurd shit they gots planned for this year's VMAs. A kiss between BillieJoelArmstrong and JamesBlunt maybe? That'd be really shocking...haha. It'd be so shocking, it'd be predictable in typical VMA fashion. Hazim.Out.

Music2SeeThursday:P!nk-U+UrHand

Hey.Hazim here...again.My fever is calming down a bit after I listened to TheCure. I guess they really are the cure!...haha. Anyways, here's the latest video and single from Pink. She's kinda going downhill chartwise and it's sad, cuz she can be a really brilliant artist sometimes ("Just Like A Pill"), but the problem is that she thinks she's the best goddamn songwriter out there with soul ("Dear Mr.President"). So, I hope this one does well cuz I kinda like it and she looks purty good in the video. Some screen shots even make her look like GwenStefani. Serious. Enjoy.Hazim.Out.

I'm Feeling Cappy Today...

Hey.Hazim here...again. Ugh...I'm not sure what to post. I've still got a high fever and it sucks bad. I'm feeling like crap.shit.poop.dung.waste...get the idea? Haha...since I'm feeling so crappy, I might as well post about crappy music. This is the CheekyGirls (yeah, you heard me...) infamous song "The Cheeky Song(Touch My Bum)" . I did mention it's crappy stuff, so...don't enjoy. I'm feeling sick today. Haha.Hazim.Out.

Music2SeeTuesday:Muse-Knights Of Cydonia

Image
Hey.Hazim here...again.While I'm blasting Muse's hot new album, I'll post this music video of Muse's awesomely epic single "Knights Of Cydonia". Cool video. Kinda artsy, but nothing compares to the song itself. Pretty awesome stuff. I gave the album five stars cuz I love it.Enjoy.Hazim.Out.

Listen To Frankee's "Watch Me"!

Image
Hey.Hazim here...again. Well I just posted about Eamon, the guy who brought you "(Fuck It) I Don't Want You Back". Remember the girl who made an answer song called "FURB" or "Fuck You Right Back"? Well, her name is Frankee and she's coming back with a new album not yet tiled, but you can listen to her new single called "Watch Me" on her myspace music profile page. It's okay, I guess. It doesn't really matter when you look as hot as her. Haha...baring your skin earns you more money than when you bare your soul, right? Where are my moral values? Haha...whatever.Hazim.Out.

Music2SeeTuesday:Eamon-(How Could You) Bring Him Home

Hey.Hazim here...again. I am sick! Literally, dudes and dudettes...I'm sick! Haha...seriously though, I've got a high fever. I'm coughing and wheezing. It feels like I've got a buzzer lodged in my throat. But whatever. Remember a few years ago when this dude named Eamon came out of nowhere with a song called "(Fuck It) I Don't Want You Back"? That song had like amillion "fucks" innit if I remember correctly. I started liking it at first but when they started playing it everywhere, I really detested it. Kinda like DanielPowter's "BadDay". That dude sounds like MinnieMouse when he sings. Anyways, Eamon's got a new single followed by a new song coming out in August, so if you are a fan (I can count them with one hand...just kidding. Haha), then you'd better get his new CD. Actually, the new song isn't that bad. There's been an okay response to it, so maybe his album won't be so bad afterall. His new CD's called Love&Pain (I don't like these kinds of album titles...they give off a bad vibe in the CD store). Enjoy the music video if you can, aiight? Hazim.Out.

CDReview:Muse//Black Holes And Revelations

Muse//BlackHolesAndRevelations
GRADE:OOOOO
Hey. Hazim here...again. Now...I'm a pretty big Muse fanatic. After hearing the single "Supermassive Black Hole", I was expecting quite a bit for their next album. Uh...I took a while to warm up to it but once I did, it totally blew me away. Yeah, this is a great album.
WHATSGOODAnother strong effort, I guess.I really really love the way MattBellamy can switch between sounding like ThomYorke and JakeShears. The single "SupermassiveBlackHole" is the reason why I picked up this album and the main reason why I don't regret buying it. "Map Of The Problematique" is queerly cool and "Knights Of Cydonia" is prolly the best track here. It's their trojan horse and yeah, it's more massive than a supermassive black hole. It's actually got galloping horses mixed with BlackSabbath riffs. Cool, huh? And when he sings "Ooh, baby I'm a fool for you" he almost makes me wish I was gay. Damn...even Prince should take notes. Seriously. It's like techno-goth-funk-something-something-something. It's a sound totally their own and Muse owns it beginning to end.
WHATSNOTSOGOODThe thing lacking is...I don't know. I guess in some parts, you can't really hear Bellamy's voice cuz you're not sure whether to concentrate on the loud techno-heavy music or his screeching. And the lyrics come dangerously close to being GreenDay-ish. "You cast a spell on the country you run, you will risk all our souls". We don't need another preacher please. Muse are a fun band and should stay that way although this album shows Muse being darker and heavier.
GRADEA+. Yesss! I wasn't sure I was gonna like it, cuz people kepy dissing me on the MySpace forums for digging this band, but this album's my guilty pleasure for now. I think everyone should own a copy. It's like...Imagine if Prince fronted a goth-techno band.

Listen To Annie:"TheCrush"

Image
Hey.Hazim here...again.Are you straight but you're too embarassed to admit you love KylieMinogue's music? Then you should do what I did...listen to Annie instead. Scene kids love her and uh, I love her too.NOTE:I'm not a scene kid. But her albums Anniemal and DJKicks were awesomely awesome dance pop songs for anyone who doesnt take anything much seriously. I was surprised to find "ChewingGum", her song, played on GreysAnatomy. That was unexplainably weird. So here's a link so you can listen to a song (I think) is from her next album. It's called "TheCrush" and if the rest of the album is like this, then I'm gonna have massive eargasms blasting it. The song is like she grew up but without sounding old. It's weird, but cool. Enjoy.Hazim.Out.

Hey.Hazim here...and I'm sorry I haven't updated this blog for a few days. Uh, I just wanted to share some artists trynna do their best covering other artist's shit...the ones with AvrilLavigne are the most hilarious. I'm serious when I say you'd better put on a diaper before you listen to her version of SystemOfADown's "ChopSuey" cuz you'll be pissing your pants like there's no tomorrow. How Bush Can Get His Groove Back

Hey.Hazim here...again.This is another YouTube video that made me laugh. What's it about? Well, it's kinda making fun of MySpace and its effect turning you into an addict (like me). Who's in it? KFed, Britney, Bush...a beuatiful combination, no? It's about how Bush can turn around his decreasing popularity and approval rates by joining MySpace. How true...I love the girls with the vibrating butts in the video.Hilarious.Enjoy.Hazim.Out.

Rivers Cuomo Calls It Quits For Weezer...Uh, Who Really Cares?

ImageHey. Hazim here...again. Remember 'BuddyHolly'? And 'We Are All On Drugs'? Two seriously great Weezer songs? I mean, their old stuff was okayy, but their recent album was a dud in my opinion. 'Beverly Hills' sounds like a lazy song most amateur bands could pull off and 'Perfect Situation', another single, is way too repetitive for me. Well, apparently, proud celibate (why would people wanna NOT have sex?) and Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo (cool name though) has told MTV that "Really, for the moment, we are done."
"And I'm not certain we'll ever make a record again unless it becomes really obvious to me that we need to do one."
Cuomo is now currently in Japan at his in-laws house for his honeymoon. Honestly, who the hell spends their honeymoon at their in-law's house, even if they live in Japan? The other band members served as groomsmen. Well, there should be a Blender magazine article out soon about this but Weezer fans, don't get too flustered cuz the DIEHARD fans aren't too worried. They think Mr.Cuomo just takes a long time between each album. A true artist? Or a lazy ass dude? You decide. I'm still confused at why Rivers would wanna embrace celibacy. Oh well, to each his own, right? But if he's married, then the chances of him throwing his celibacy vows out the window are higher, right?....but who really cares? Here's a link to a Weezer video at the bottom. Enjoy (if you're a fan). Hazim.Out. Weezer-BeverlyHills

BackTracks(1999): Basement Jaxx-Red Alert

ImageHey. Hazim here...again. Having a good Monday? Hope you are, cuz I had a good one for some odd mysterious reason. I don't understand why Monday can be so underrated...not that I love Mondays...but...okayy, I'll fucking shut the fuck up now. Anyways, here's another BackTrack for ya. It's from 1999 and from one of the best dance acts in the history of dance acts. They're fun and they can take a song and totally whip its ass into another shape. Yeah, I'm talking about Basement Jaxx. If you want make sure people dance and grind it up at your party, play some Basement Jaxx, especially their singles collection. They're awesomely awesome. I can't wait for new material from them. I was gonna post a download of their song with Ex-NSync member JC Chasez (the one called 'Plug It In'), but I can't stand JC's voice. Sounds like he's being neutered all the time or something when he sings. So, I uploaded 'Red Alert' instead. It's a great song, so enjoy. And here's the video for this awesome song. Hazim.Out.

Fat Kid Jumping: Seriously, This Clip Is Hilarious!

Hey. Hazim here...again. I just wanted toshare this funny as hell clip of a fat kid trynna dive. Seriously, it must have been painful to experience something like that...but it was fun to watch. If I was a judge in a diving competition, I'd give him a score of 10 for just making me laugh my ass off. Still...I shouldn't be laughing cuz he most prolly DID get hurt...but let's take it lightly for now.Enjoy.If the video doesn't work here on my site, click here.Hazim.Out.

Breakouts:GymClassHeroes

ImageGym Class Heroes
Hey. Hazim here...again. Everybody calls KanyeWest a genius but what if you took away the samples he uses in his songs? True, his lyrics are brilliant when he's not talking about himself...but he follows the typical cut and paste formula of rapping over a sample. Piggybacking is for wussies...haha. Anyways, here's the latest Breakouts post. I never knew of this bdan before, but I love the title of their new album and their band itself. They call themselves Gym Class Heroes and they are a four member hiphop group from Geneva, NewYork. Well, even though I just discovered them (I'm so behind on this, I know...), apparently other famous people know of them already like Pete Wentz from FallOutBoy (yeah, the dude who's got nude pics littered all over the net) and Styles P. Now, the reason I mentioned sampling is because most hiphop artists use sampling as an easy way to get a beat, but these guys use instruments...yeah, different, right? And surprise...two white guys in the band! Haha. Anyways, their new album is scheduled for release on July25th so look out for it. The album's title is As Cruel As School Children. And since I love the names of the songs so much, here's a track listing:
  1. 1st Period: The Queen And I
  2. 2nd Period: Shoot Down The Stars
  3. 3rd Period: New Friend Request
  4. 4th Period: Clothes Off!
  5. Lunch: Sloppy Love Jingle
  6. 6th Period: Viva La White Girl
  7. 7th Period: 7 Weeks
  8. 8th Period: It's OK, But Just This Once!
  9. Study Hall: Sloppy Love Jingle Part 2
  10. 10th Period: Biters Block
  11. Yearbook Club: Boys In Bands
  12. 12th Period: Scandalous Scholastics
  13. 13th Period: On My Own Time (Write On!)
  14. Detention: Sloppy Love Jingle Part 3
Well, I think they're good. So yeah, you should check 'em out people. The first single is called 'New Friend Request' which sounds like a reference to MySpace and Friendster...could be, no? If I manage to upload one of their songs so you can sample them, I'll post it here, but for now, visit their website or their myspace music profile page. Aiight? Hazim. Out.

I Breathe A Sigh Of Relief: I Think I'm Finally Over The Fact France Lost The WorldCup

ImageViva La France!
Hey. Hazim here...again. After France lost the WorldCup to Italy, I wasn't sure how I was gonna move on...haha. But seriously, it was a huge slap across my face.Well, the sting was obvious and I was stuck drowning myself in depressing songs from TheCure and Portishead, but hey, I'm okay now. As a tribute to the country of France, I uploaded a brilliant French song by a French artist. It's Camille with 'Paris'. Pretty song in the vein of Bjork and NellieMcKay, but the difference is that it's in French. If you don't understand French, you're gonna love it even more. Kinda like people who don't understand Spanish but buy Shakira's Spanish albums. She's a genius when it comes altering and tweaking her sound. Just listen to te way her voice warps every few seconds. It's so good, it's like foreplay...haha. Whatever, right? Good music gives me eargasms. Check it out, people. Hazim.Out.

Music2SeeThursday:India.Arie feat. Akon-I Am Not My Hair

ImageHey. Hazim here...again. I missed a day of being online...I think I almost died. Anyways, get your ChickenSoupForTheSoul books out and some fuzzy kittens and some morning sunlight and uh, anything that might make you feel excruciatingly insanely happy and inspirational. That's just like India.Arie's latest single "I Am Not My Hair". Well, the album debuted at number one on Billboard, so there must be something about the single. I think the original version's okay, but the remix featuring Akon adds a hell of a lot more spice. The song? It's about uh...your hair...and uh, how it shouldn't define who you are.
Okayy...I use like a ton of hair gel every week, so it could be that Ms.Arie is dissing me, haha. But all in all, a great track that I actually found myself humming to myself on the bus ride yesterday morning. Enjoy the video, people. Hazim. Out.

GwenStefani...ThomYorke...Jenny Lewis...And Now...Shirley Manson!

ImageHey. Hazim here...again. Don't you just love it when lead singers get greedy and selfish enough that they strike it on their own as a solo artist? Haha, I'm kidding...GwenStefani made it big on the charts...I've yet to hear ThomYorke's new release...JennyLewis' album with the WatsonTwins was awesomely awesome...and now, my childhood crush has gone solo from her 90s reminiscent rock band, Garbage. Yeah, hell yeah, it's ShirleyManson! Yeah, apparently, while the band is on hiatus (she claims they have NOt broken up, people), she's taking the chance to experiment with PaulBuchanan of BlueNile on solo outing:
"
I thought he’d be very moody and introverted, but he’s not like that at all. He’s quite outgoing and charming. Neither of us has ever written with anybody else before. It’s going to be strange. We’ll see how it goes — it could be a complete unmitigated disaster."
ShirleyMansion is a legend and I'm glad she's going to take her place in the spotlight cuz she deserves it. Can't wait for the album to hit stores...love her voice, love her style, love her attitude. You either love her music or you're one of the guys that wish they could screw her. I'm in both categories *blushes a deep pink*. Yeah, I know...shameless. Haha. Enjoy the Garbage song I uploaded.Hazim. Out.
