Sienna Miller goes wild for W

Photo: Sienna Miller on W

Diva actress Sienna Miller let it all hang out for the current issue of W magazine.  She managed to only insult five people during the photo shoot.  I hope she doesn’t get stuck like that.

Mel Gibson surprises Hollywood again!

Movies: Apocalypto

Mel Gibson has surprised Hollywood once again and this time it doesn’t involve a rant against the Jews.  Mel’s movie Apocalypto, according to earlier reports, is winning the weekend box office.

Call it a Hollywood shocker. Despite scandal, an R-rating, subtitles because of an ancient dialect, no stars, and direct competition from movieland AAA-listers Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz, Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto won today’s matinees this opening weekend, I’m told.

Today’s development bears out my reporting back on December 1st when I was told that early tracking showed Mel’s movie (playing in 2,465 theaters) edging ahead. Based on today’s matinees, the No. 2 spot went to Sony’s The Holiday (in 2,610 playdates), a date movie from director-writer Nancy Meyer, known for capturing that man-woman zeitgeist.

Today’s result is exactly what Disney — which had been under pressure to dump Mel’s self-financed Mayan epic after his drunken anti-Semitic stumble — was hoping for: that Gibson had become a brand name and that his The Passion of the Christ and Braveheart audiences would reward him with their moviegoing loyalty (and not hold his drunken anti-Semitic ranting against him).

It will be pretty amazing if Apocalypto tops the weekend box office considering all of Gibson’s troubles in the past few months. Many in Hollywood doubted him on The Passion of the Christ and lost their jobs when it made hundreds of millions of dollars. It looks like there might be some pink slips given out on Monday as well.

Britney admits Crotch Shot Mistake

Photo: Brit Spears mistake

Britney Spears admits on her website that she made a mistake and got a bit carried away with her new found freedom.

It’s been so long since I’ve been out on the town with my friends.  It’s also been two years since I celebrated my birthday.  Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected, and I probably did take my new found freedom a little too far.  Anyway, thank God for Victoria’s Secrets’ new underwear line!  I look forward to a new year, new music and a new me.

I’m just getting started…..Happy Holidays everyone!

Britney Spears

I find getting carried away with freedom and class to be two totally separate issues. We can hope that the new year will be crotch shot and K-Fed free for Brit.

Britney Smoking up the Club

Trashy Britney Spears is back. I had assumed and hoped it was just a phase she was going through with Kevin Federline, but it appears to be here for good complete with squars, crotch shots, and bare feet.

Photo: Britney Bday Smoke Up 2

I thought smoking went out of style like in 1988.

Photo: Britney Bday Smoke Up 3

I would like one hour with Britney to see what exactly is in that head of hers….hopefully something. At least Brit refrained this night from scarring us with another crotch shot.

Laura Bush and the Red Dress

Photo: Laura and George Bush

First Lady Laura Bush found herself in an ackward fashion moment this week at an exclusive White House holiday reception.

Bush wore a beautiful and elegant designer gown for the occasion. The gown (pictured above) was designed by Oscar de la Renta and cost nearly $8,500 dollars.  The problem was not the dress but the number of people who showed up for the party wearing the exact same dress. Three women were spotted wearing the same gown at the party. Such a fashion no-no and quite embarrasing for all involved.

Laura didn’t fret though, she went upstairs changed dresses and enjoyed the rest of the evening with those in attendance.  The President and First Lady got a big kick out of mishap according to Mrs. Bush’s office.

Celebrity Famous Last Words

Photo: Famous Last Words

We hopped in the Double Viking time machine sixty years into the future to record the last words of many of today’s biggest celebrities.

A couple of good ones made their list.  I like Brit’s, Tom’s and Lindsay’s.  Here goes:

Paris Hilton: That was hot…

Britney Spears:  Sean Preston, put down that knife right now!

Nicole Richie: No thanks! I’m good with just water for now.

Justin Timberlake: I’m even gayer than Lance.

Mary Kate Olsen: There were no Olsen “twins.”  It was a mirror the whole time…

Ryan Seacrest: What…are you waiting for me to say “Seacrest out” or something? Not happening. Wait…

Jennifer Lopez: Wait, how do you say ‘Goodbye’ in Spanish? That’d be so perfect right now.

Tom Cruise: Katie, put down that gun! (BANG!) Aaaaargggh!!! (gargling noises) P.S. I’m gay.

Lindsay Lohan: Wooo! Happy New Yearsss!!  2007 is gonna rock!

The rest of the list is here.

Jessica Simpson loses it in front of Dolly Parton

Photo: Jessica Simpson at Kennedy Honors

Pop singer Jessica Simpson has always stated that her hero is Dolly Parton. Heck, Dolly is special to most of  us.  Jessica Simpson had the chance to sing in front of her hero at the Kennedy Center Honors this week. Well Jessica lost it, forgot the words, and broke down in tears according to those in attendance.

Singer-actress Jessica Simpson ended up in tears Sunday night after her performance during the Kennedy Center Honors appeared to go awry.

Simpson was on stage singing Nine to Five as part of a tribute to honouree Dolly Parton when she apparently stopped singing, uttered the words “so nervous” and exited the stage.

Jessica has had a really tough 2006. Cheer up Jess, the curse of Nick won’t last forever.
