Breaking News Britney Files For Divorce Posted by Tiff on 07 Nov 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's 5:13 PM EST, and literally minutes ago it was announced that pop singer Britney Spears has filed for divorce from dancer/want to be rapper Kevin Federline.
Maybe she finally listened to the lyrics on that disaster of a CD of his.... This is the first time any news about them has made sense since they hooked up.
The papers cite "irreconcilable differences," after almost three years of marriage. The couple have two sons, Sean Preston, 1, and Jayden James, just born in September.
Maybe this is why Britney's been so low key lately, and Kevin's been going everywhere alone? It would appear so.
Well, too bad they split, but I think her life, and career will be better for it. I never understood them together to begin with....
Faith Claims Reaction Was A Joke Posted by Tiff on 07 Nov 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So now, country singer Faith Hill is saying her reaction following the announcement where country newcomer Carrie Underwood was deemed Female Vocalist of the Year, a high honor for an "Idol" winner, was a "joke."
Following the announcement, the camera panned to those who'd lost, including Hill, who screamed "What?!" in the direction of the camera. Now, in damage control, Hill claims it was pure playfulness, and that it's been blown out of proportion.
Yeah, right. Come on Faith, you wanted to win, and you're mad that you didn't. Honesty would be better at this point really. It's not like anyone thinks you're joking. After all, it's not like you haven't done this whole awards show thing before...if you win, the camera's on you, and if you don't win, it's on you. You should've known that would have looked immature, and yes, like a sore loser.
What's up with musicians egos being so out of check lately? Reality, people. Find it....
And in news of Carrie Underwood, she claimed not to take Hill's reaction seriously and according to reports the two of them are "fine."
Consider this: Carrie's debut label album "Some Hearts" was wildly successful following her "Idol" win, even crossing into pop charts and countless promotion. Faith Hill's release "Fireflies" (also in 2005,) barely made a blip on the country circuit. If not for her previous recognition, it probably would have gone unnoticed.
Of all the women nominated, due to the apparent success, Carrie deserved to win the most. Get over it, Faith.
ETA: Leann Rimes has something to say on her official fan club. Wow....
Ok, I usually keep quiet on topics like this but I feel I need to stand up for my friend, Faith. She was just being honest and emotional like every other person sitting at home with an opinion. These awards shows are SO political and we all get fed up with them. We all work very hard and have for many years so to see someone come in and win Female Vocalist that has been here for a VERY short time, is a little disheartening. That is why we have the Horizon award and Carrie had an incredible year, enough to sweep that one. I don't think Faith was angry about Her loss, she probably felt, as I did that Carrie has not payed her dues long enough to fully deserve that award. As artists and public figures, we have to keep our feelings so repressed so we don't get called ungrateful as Faith has on this board many times now. She is a very sweet and gracious woman, whom I adore. Please cut her some slack! -LeAnn
This post is going to become more controversial than it needs to be. I have enjoyed talking with you about our opinions but feel that this already is blown way out of proportion. I stand by Faith as my fellow artist and friend as an honest mistake was magnified. I also, as you know from previous post, respect Carrie and wish her well! -LeAnn
Idol Girls at the CMAs Posted by Kim on 06 Nov 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carrie Underwood is definitely the darling of Country music at the moment. She's up for 4 awards tonight and she'll be performing. But it's her $850,000 dress that should be catching all the attention tonight. Yup, that dress cost that much; it's covered in diamonds, designed by David Rodriguez. And after the show it will be auctioned off for charity. I really respect her for wearing an ill fitting, unnatractive gown for a good cause.
And Kellie Pickler is there too. Isn't purple a great color on her? She'll be doing red carpet duties and presenting at the show tonight. Country music sure treats the Idol girls well.
I never thought I'd say it, but I've gotta give this round to Kellie. A+ to whoever dressed her!

More pics on the flip side!
ETA: This video is too much. Pay close attention to Faith Hill's reaction to Carre winning one of her awards last night. (and if you don't blink you'll see Carrie's date to the show...Anthony Federov!).

Hilary Duff is lookin' better than she has in a LONG time. Brunette is really in in hollywood right now, isn't it?
Oooh, but of course Scarlett Johannson has to be "different" and become a red head! And what happens? It comes out terrible. Just stick to following the crowd!
Lindsay Lohan is reportedly going after Diana Ross' son . Is it just me or does this kid look like Michael Jackson, presurgery?
That dude from Doogie Howser is gay. Yeah, I could never take him seriously when he was hitting on women on How I Met Your Mother. And that was ACTING.

Kevin Federline Album Review Haha Posted by Tiff on 06 Nov 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First, let me say that I'm not really a fan of rap, and I was strictly curious when I decided to listen to this album....so maybe I'm not the best person to judge Kevin Federline's debut album "Playing With Fire." Oh yeah right, what am I talking about? I have ears, and therefore, I'm qualified. Haha. If you don't like it, well, too bad. But I don't think the bar's been set too high for him. And before we go on, no, I didn't buy it. I'm not insane.
The intro to the CD has a bunch of kids laughing and talking, and a grandpa laughing. Then it plays media clips about Brit and Kevin and their marriage and family. Apparently this is supposed to set the tone for the whole CD. Did I mention it sounds like he pulls a sword or something at the end? Yeah. That's what I said. The song "Caught Up" makes me wonder how long he sat trying to rhyme words. It sounds like it's about the girl he was with before Britney. Talks about him getting arrested for drinking. Yeah, good example for your four children there, Kevin.
"Playing With Fire" starts out with a phone call, literally. It's quite cheesy, and it sounds like someone reading from a piece of paper. And I guess he thinks profanity makes him sould like an adult. Oh yeah, that'll make them believe it, right. This song sounds very much like the one I'd previously mentioned.
"A League Of My Own," oh how the title made me snicker. What league might that be? Well, it talks about alcohol, pot, and money in the first two or three lines, saying "don't judge a book by its cover," then he talks about his nuts, and that the media treats him unjustly. Collectively now, let's laugh. This song is actually making me laugh. Is Britney serious? This one sounds like "All them other artists, I'm gonna knock 'em off the shelf." *Tiffany falls over laughing*
"Crazy" features Britney herself on back-up, apparently defending her love for Kevin. Alright fine, she can do whatever she wants, but I care nothing about hearing him try to rap. I keep thinking how Sean Preston and Jayden James aren't ever going to live this down. And Britney, yeah, we do think you're a little crazy for picking him. But whatever, I'm not the one who's got to wake up next to him the rest of my life.
"Privilege" once again talks about pot. This is like, the fourth song out of yes, four that has mentioned pot. So idiotic. "Dance With A Pimp" - he's kidding, right? Please tell me he's kidding. Haha, oh heck, this is amusing. "Lose Control" - isn't this a phrase Britney's used quite a bit? This sounds like talking, not rapping, and the lyrics are well, lame.
Ah, another pot reference in "Snap." At least we're figuring out where all of Britney's money is going. No wonder she's trying to get back in shape so quick. Her money's gone, he's rolled it all smoked it. "America's Most Hated" starts out with a siren sound, then Kevin talking, and then talking about being the talk of the town. Well that might be true, but that doesn't mean the talk is positive. Basically, he's bragging about money, and yes, pot again....talking about living like a King. Did Britney even listen to this album? Seriously, it sounds like all he does is smoke pot and use her for her money. This girl needs an intervention. Oh Kevin's "handing out ass kickin's like diplomas...." *laughter* And then he talks about the "model chicks wanna do me," in his dreams, maybe?
"The World Is Mine" tries to explain that the world was his pre-Britney. Okay, whatever. It's mine too, there Kevin. That's right. And oh lord, a bonus track? Yes, there is one. "Keep On Talkin'/Middle Finger" sounds exactly like all the other songs on the TV, and once again Kevin's trying to say he's bigger than the world and what people think of him doesn't matter because he's married to Britney Spears and he's smoking all of her money. Now that's something to be proud of there Kevin.... Oh lord, he just mentioned his nuts again. I'm going to delete this album now....
No one's ego's out of check at all....no....
I'm convinced that Britney's now officially blind, and deaf. He must be a completely different person one-on-one, or she's just insane. He pretty much lived up to every assumption I had of him with this. Haha, it isn't pretty, folks.
Rating: On a scale of A - F this one's a G. Don't even waste your time.
Harsh Times Premiere Posted by Kim on 05 Nov 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been patiently waiting for Eva Longoria to go back to being a brunette (blonde does NOT work on all skin tones), and tonight she showed up at the premiere of her new movie with a short and sleek bob. Meh, I think I like the long locks on her.
ETA: It looks like her locks still are long!
Check out more pics of Eva and her costar Christian Bale on the flip side.
Half of Supernova @ The Gemini Awards Posted by Kim on 05 Nov 2006
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lukas Rossi and Gilby Clarke showed up at the Gemini awards in Canada yesterday. Who knows where Tommy was, he probably broke something too. SPEAKING of Jason Newsteds departure......it looks like some guy named Johnny Cult from the Black Crowes has stepped in to take his place.
Sounds the like the band has it together (for now). Check out their new website, www.IntoTheSupernova.com
