Hezbollah Rally, 05

Image
Wonder to what extent the ranks will be swelled after Israel's latest defeat?

ALERT! A Reader Saves Us From Filthy Arab Lies

Patty wrote:
You know I could be a lot more heart over this if they were not faking all those pictures coming out of there.
Were not most of this staged by Hezbollah I might feel something for them. As it is picking and choosing the bodies of dead children to be filmed is the most chilling thing I can think of.
BTW that could be our children. Sheesh
What do you say to the Israeli people when they recover their dead? Oh I know you don't ackknowledge them because they are not staging photos.
And they would have fooled us, if not for Perspicacious Patty, whose sharp eye and black-and-white sense of right from wrong allows her to decide which dead children are good and which to feel sorry for.

They faked those photos of the dead kids! They stored dead children, mashed them all up under concrete blocks, and then when Israel bombed the neighborhood-- killing nobody-- they quick ran out into the rubble, lifted up the hundreds of tons of concrete, and put the pre-killed kids under there!

Because we know-- we all KNOW-- that Israel would NEVER EVER bomb civilian areas.

That's just another deception from those wily, conniving Arabs who waste no opportunity to make Olmert look like a ravening butcher.

Just to set the record straight, according to the Red Cross, the score right now is eight dead Israeli civilians and hundreds of dead Palestinian civilians. Hezbollah has killed a far greater ratio of soldiers to civilians than has Israel.

No matter how they flail, and even with all their billions of US taxpayer dollars, Israel can't seem to kill Hezbollah.

Now they look like butchers on the world stage (and yes, that's important, believe it or not.) Now they're going to be forced into a ceasefire without having substantially impacted Hezbollah's ability to launch rockets into their territory.

And all because they used artillery on guerrillas (why is it that when the guerrillas are on our side, they're Freedom Fighters?)

Why is it that when I read Patty's mail, I smelled the dead, dry stench of bibles?

What do you say to a man whose family is buried under the rubble?

From The Independent:

By Robert Fisk

There were bulldozers turning over the tons of rubble, a cloud of dust and smoke a mile high over the smashed slums of Beirut's southern suburbs and a tall man in a grey T-shirt - a Brooklyn taxi driver, no less - standing on the verge of tears, staring at what may well be the grave of his grandfather, his uncle and aunt. Half the family home had been torn away and the entire block of civilian apartments next door had been smashed to the ground a few hours earlier by the two missiles that exploded in Asaad al-Assad Street.

What do you say to a man whose family is buried under the rubble? The last corpse had been a man whose face appeared etched in dust before the muck was removed and he turned out to be paper-thin - so perfectly had the falling concrete crushed him. Mohamed al-Husseini had left New York for a holiday with his young wife and infant child - they were safe in the centre of Beirut - because he wanted to see his family home and talk to the relatives he grew up with.

"Just look what the Israelis have done," he said, not taking his eyes off the floors of the apartments, now scarcely an inch between them. "I am confused. You know? I don't know what to do. I could go back to my wife and kid but the rest of my family is in there. They used to live in the south and they survived there. Then they come to Beirut and die here."

Mohamed al-Husseini's grandfather, Mohamed Yassin, is - let us not say "was" yet - 75. His uncle is Hussein Yassin, his aunt is called Hila. By last night, nothing had been found of them. And of those in the building next door?

At least 17 civilians were killed, many of them children. A 12-year-old boy called Hussein Ahmed Mohsen lay dead in the mortuary of the Mount Lebanon Hospital, along with a woman who died just after being rescued when the missiles collapsed her home just after 7.30 on Monday night. Almost all the occupants of this doomed building were members of the Rmeiti family - again, they were from the dangerous south - and 15 of the dead were from the same village.

It was a scene to provoke fury. One Hizbollah "watcher" demanded my press card and lost interest when he read it. But a Lebanese youth in a yellow shirt at the scene was grabbed by the same man, hauled away by his collar and handed over to a clutch of beefy, tall individuals who forced him into a car. Everyone now searches for spies, for the men - and women - who are reputed to "paint" the apartment blocks of Beirut for Israel's missile technology to lock on to their targets.

A sad, grim meeting in the same Mount Lebanon Hospital suggested that the house had not been "fingered" by anyone. I found Ali Rmeiti, an employee at Beirut airport, covered in bloody wounds, his face distorted, shaking his head in disbelief. "I was on the balcony with my wife, Huda, and three of our children ... I heard nothing - nothing. I didn't realise what happened. It was black. Then came the second blast and we were all blown into the street with the balcony."

Huda Rmeiti is lying next to her husband on a drip-feed, covered with even more bloody wounds than Ali. I know - and they do not - that three of their four children were killed.

And why was the building struck? The Israelis have slaughtered hundreds of civilians, attacking convoys of refugees they themselves ordered to leave. But Saadieh, Ali Rmeiti's sister-in-law, has a story which matches those of two other survivors. Before the missiles exploded, she said, an Israeli drone flew over the Shiyyah district, a pilotless reconnaissance aircraft which sends live pictures back to Tel Aviv. "Um Kamel", as the Lebanese call them, whined around for a time and then, without warning, someone drove down Assaad al-Assad street on a motorcycle and fired into the sky with a rifle opposite the Rmeiti home.

Then he left, some youth who wanted to prove his foolish manhood. You can't destroy drones with a rifle, as any Hizbollah member knows. But not long afterwards, the two missiles came streaking down on the homes of the innocent.

Email From A Reader

"Your constant use of profanity and pictures of corpses shows where your true loyalties lie."

Yes, the fact that Israel is using clusterbombs on civilian areas isn't the problem. The real issue is whether people might show pictures of the results on their blogs. Or say "Fuck."

Boy, A.J, you sure know how to change my behavior.

Joe Lieberman, Stealth Candidate

Well, I guess we know Lieberman's true colors now.

He's lost the election. And instead of conceding like a man, he decides to throw it in favor of the Great Enemy, a party Holy Joe's always been a little too close to for my comfort.

He must be fully aware that the votes will be split between him and Lamont. Well-- who knows if they will or not. I think Connecticut democrats may be so disgusted by this petulant display that they'll vote for Lamont en masse.

The thugs are pulling out all the stops. Santorum's been donating to the Green Party. Now Lieberman has basically defected to the Right.

Of course, the reason he's doing this is because his real allegiance isn't to the United States. It's to the theocratic fascist dictatorship that receives obscene amounts of US money and aid, and dominates US foreign policy to an absurd degree.

And Lieberman was a heartbeat away from the Presidency. Think about that one.

Imagine the Horror

Imagine the horror for the Israelis if they realized one day that they were in the wrong.

That they had:
* ghettoized an impoverished population
* used indiscriminate bombing tactics in civilian areas
* unfairly rationed water and power, giving preference to their own ethnic group and shortshrifting those of the oppressed ethnic group
* confiscated homes and businesses of that oppressed ethnic group
* forced that group to carry labor papers and submit to authoritarian, jackbooted police organizations

What would it be like to wake up some Tel Aviv morning, to look in the mirror notice the similarities?

They use tank and houseclearing tactics developed by the Third Reich. Much of their police doctrine is straight from the SS.

What next, pressure experiments?

Did You Know?

This kind of thing is really interesting to me given the shrill, rude and often threatening mail I get from zionists bent on shutting me up. And I'm comparatively two-sided about the whole thing-- I hate equally all people who kill civilians, especially for religious reasons. Right now (and, well, usually) it just so happens that Israelis are the ones wearing the jackboots.

They want the media to be "fair and balanced" when they themselves are not being fair. One responsibility of the media that has largely been abdicated, especially in the United States, is the responsibility to make some value judgements. When a superpower has been oppressing a minority to varying degrees for forty years, it's kind of incumbent upon us to say something about it. To whatever extent we don't, we're shirking our responsibility to the human race.

And all a'yall, just so you know something about me: when someone doesn't like something I'm saying, and they get nasty about it, I say it twice as loud.

This comes from MonaBaker.com.

Did you know that non-Jewish Israelis cannot buy or lease land in Israel?

Did you now that cars owned by Palestinians are colour coded to distinguish Jews from non-Jews?

Did you know Palestinians are not allowed to move from one city, say Gaza to Bethleham, to another without first getting a 'visa' from Israel?

Did you know that Israel allots 85% of the water resources for Jews and the remaining 15% is divided among all Palestinians in the territories? For example in Hebron, 85% of the water is given to about 400 Jewish settlers, while 15% must be divided among Hebron's 120,000 Palestinians?

Did you know that Israel routinely confiscates Palestinian bank accounts, businesses and land and refuses to pay compensation to those who suffer confiscation?

Did you know that Israel stands in defiance of over 80 United Nations Security Council Resolutions?

Did you know that it was not until 1988 that Israelis were barred from running 'Jews Only' job ads?

Did you know that Sharon (the 'elected' leader of a democratic society) was held responsible for the massacre of more than 2750 Palestinians in the refugee camps of Sabra and Chatila? The UN qualified the massacre by Sharon as GENOCIDE.

Did you know that Sharon's commando unit in 1953 razed the Palestinian village of Qibya killing all its citizens and bombed all the houses, mosques and schools?

Did you know that Israel's settlement-building on Palestinian land increased considerably since the signing of the Oslo agreement?

Did you know that settlement building of Jewish only homes under Barak doubled compared to settlement building under Netanyahu?

Did you know that Palestinian refugees make up the largest portion of the refugee population in the world?

Did you know that between 1967 and early 2002 Israel expropriated some 79% of the West Bank and Gaza Strip? Estimated figures published by Amnesty International in 1999 show the following:

Year Land Confiscated in the West Bank

1984 42%

1991 60%

1998 74%

Did you know that since between 1967 and early 2002 Israel demolished or sealed over 8500 homes, of which 2500 were in East Jerusalem alone? Houses are demolished as punitive measure or under the pretext of 'lack of building permit' - permits are rarely granted.

Did you know that the Ha'aertz Israeli paper estimated in 1998 (31 July) that a population of 5800 Jewish settlers in Hebron consumed 547 liters of water a day each? By contrast, a population of 119,230 Palestinians in the same area consumed or had access to no more than 58 litres per day each.

Did you know that since 1967, (and of course not counting the atrocities committed since March 2002) over 600,000 Palestinians have been jailed in Israeli jails and over 200 have died while in Israeli jails? During the first year of the second intifada alone, Israel arrested over 1900 Palestinians, of which 600 were children under 16.

Did you know that Israel uses torture routinely in jails (only against non-Jews of course) despite the Israeli High Court outlawing it?

Iraq Could Descend Into Civil War

Well, that's according to General Abizaid. Gotta take what he says with a grain of salt. He's just a liberal faggot after all.

-

Iraq could descend into civil war if the recent surge in violence in Baghdad is not stopped, two senior US generals said on Thursday.

"The sectarian violence is probably as bad as I've seen it," General John Abizaid, head of US Central Command, which oversees the Iraq war, told the Senate armed services committee. "If not stopped, it is possible Iraq could move toward civil war."

Gen Abizaid's comments came in response to a question about a leaked memo from William Patey, the outgoing British ambassador to Iraq, which warned that civil war was a more likely outcome in Iraq than the emergence of a stable democracy.

Mr Patey's memo to the prime minister and cabinet, which was leaked to the BBC, added: "Even the lowered expectation of President [George W.] Bush for Iraq – a government that can sustain itself, defend itself and govern itself and is an ally in the war on terror – must remain in doubt."

Gen Abizaid's remarks prompted John Warner, the committee's influential Republican chairman, to suggest that Congress might have to re-examine the authority it gave the president to wage war in Iraq.

"I think we have to examine very carefully what Congress authorised the president to do in the context of a situation if we're faced with an all-out civil war and whether we have to come back to the Congress to get further indication of support," Mr Warner said.

General Peter Pace – the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who was testifying alongside Gen Abizaid and Donald Rumsfeld, the defence secretary – agreed that Iraq could descend into civil war, though he said that outcome was not "probable." But under questioning from John McCain, the Republican senator and likely presidential contender, he conceded that a year ago he would not have considered even the possibility of civil war.

Some Republican senators joined Democrats in questioning whether the US military had expected a year ago that violence would be at the current levels, with an estimated daily death toll of a hundred in Baghdad.

The acknowledgments of increasing violence in Iraq come as the US military has had to delay the departure of some troops to bolster counter-insurgency efforts in Baghdad.

Gen Abizaid appeared to play down suggestions last month by General George Casey, the top US commander in Iraq, that significant troop cuts could still be possible this year. Gen Abizaid said "some reductions in forces" were still possible, but would depend on the situation in Baghdad. Mr McCain, who has often criticised Mr Rumsfeld for not sending more troops, said he was concerned that the military was employing a strategy of "whack-a-mole" by redeploying troops from areas that are not under control to other violent areas.

"Its very disturbing," said Mr McCain. "If it's all up to the Iraqi military, General Abizaid … then I wonder why we have to move troops into Baghdad to intervene in what is clearly sectarian violence."

Hillary Clinton, the New York Democrat, lambasted Mr Rumsfeld for what she said was his mishandling of the war.

Israel Kills Dozens of Women and Children

Image
As many as 17 Lebanese children were killed in the Southern Lebanese town of Qana.

Yes, this is what indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas does, especially when using such munitions as clusterbombs.

Remember that cluster munitions are prohibited by the Geneva Conventions, a set of documents held in the highest disrespect by the Israeli ruling class.

After all, Arabs are nothing more than animals. Beasts on two legs. Who cares if their children are slaughtered en masse?

When the Arabs (forced into refugee camps) use suicide bombs, it's a horrible crime, in return for which the worst atrocities are justified. When Israel does it, it's just war.

Nobody gives a fuck, except maybe Hezbollah, whose recruiting rosters will no doubt be filled to bursting after today.

Filled by apparent civilians-- people utterly indistinguishable from civilians-- who are willing to do anything, any GOD DAMNED THING, in order to get back at the people who killed their wives and children.

When will the Israeli thirst for the blood of children be quenched?

One wonders if some buses retrofitted as impromptu long pig butcher shops-- buffets of the most succulent non-kosher meats tartare- will help to stanch the seemingly inexhaustible Israeli appetite for human flesh. Such repasts cannot be long in coming.

After all, remember that those recently bereaved civilians are impossible to tell from anyone else. They'll also have a wonderful source of antipersonnel munitions in the form of unexploded ordnance that Israel has been so kind as to deliver. Let's get this auto da fe started hearty!

Oh, and Big Brain Scott-- get ready to get your feast on. I'm sure you have plenty of mealymouthed prevarications to deliver about the latest piled-high corpsewagons. Hope this makes you smack your chops. I'll be posting plenty of photos, just for you, as soon as they're available.

The Bombed UN Building

Image
This building took a direct hit from an Israeli aerial bomb.

One of two things happened there:
Either
1) The Israelis were bombing the area so indiscriminately that they could accidentally hit a clearly labeled, well established UN building

2) They did it on purpose.

Personally, I think it's a combination of the two. I think they're indulging in indiscriminate bombing, AND I think they bombed the UN observers on purpose in retaliation for UN calls for a ceasefire in the region and to limit their effectiveness.
