A message from Publishers Weekly:
The Harry Potter bookselling bonanza will take place this July, though not on July 7 as many expected, but two weeks later, July 21. Scholastic announced this morning that the final volume in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will be priced at $34.99, the first price increase since 2003. Scholastic has received the manuscript, but no page count has been released, though at the hefty price the book is likely to be a long one. Amazon is already accepting preorders and is discounting the title at $18.89. It will be interesting to see how the discounting story plays out in the U.S. In the U.K., where a number of independent booksellers said they won’t carry the title because of deep discounting by other retailers and e-tailers, Bloomsbury will also release the book on July 21, in four editions: a children’s hardcover, an adult hardcover, a gift edition and an audio version.

“Dreamgirls” has been about Jennifer Hudson from day one. Now she has announced that she will perform “I Love You I Do” during the Feb. 25th broadcast of the show. The song is up for an Oscar as well. Hudson made this announcement on Tuesdays edition of Oprah and also stated that she will start recording her album in March.

Dr. Phil has posted on his site a show about a woman who is obssessed with Jay-Z. She some how got his phone number and calls the number over 200 times a day. Read this quote:
Katrina admits, “I’ve been stalking people my whole life. When someone rejects me, I get obsessed with that person. When I was 9, it was this man who went to my church, and I just had a huge crush on him. I called him over 100 times in one day.’”
“I’ve been stalking Jay-Z more than three years,” Katrina says matter-of-factly. “Jay-Z is the CEO of Def Jam [Records]. He’s a big celebrity. In my mind, he’s more than that. He is just my dream. I can’t seem to think of anybody else. He is my all and all.” Katrina buys every magazine Jay-Z is in, has called him over 300 times and e-mails him 200 times a day, but he has never responded. She even had a T-shirt made up with Jay-Z’s and her picture, that she says she sleeps in every night.
I hope Dr. Phil knocked this girl back into reality, cause she surely needs JESUS!

I love Cherry Coke! But it’s not always the best seller for Coke. So in an effort to re-launched Cherry Coke again, marketers have tapped Jay-Z to be the new official spokes person for the cola. But he’s not just going to be the face of the brand he’s going to redesign the can and will help push the re-launch during Fashion Week ‘07 next week at Bryant Park. A Jay-Z produced commercial will soon follow the re-launch of the Cherry Coke brand. We are excited to see what Jay-Z’s vision and talents could bring to the Cherry Coke brand. It’s good to see Jay-Z doing much more then rapping. He has become the official go to man for bring brands and the Hip-Hop community together.
Brandy May Face Misdemeanor Charges In Deadly Accident

The California Highway Patrol made a recommendation today that R&B singer Brandy be charged with misdemeanor vehicular. Brandy was involved in a car accident in late December which killed 38 year old Await Aboudihaj. “The office is currently reviewing the case and determining whether the evidence warrants the filing of a misdemeanor charge of vehicular manslaughter,” stated police spokesman Nick Velasquez.

The Sheila Files: Justin Timberlake Influences YSL Men’s Collection

Justin Timberlake has really cause a fashion trend as of late. His “SexyBack” look which is a mixture of dress wear with sports wear has made it onto the high end fashion runways. The YSL menswear show Sunday reflected the influences of client Justin Timberlake, featuring flannel trousers and gold-adorned bags in a collection that neatly blended formal attire with casual sportswear. The label is set to dress Timberlake for his current world tour which will kick off soon. What makes this look stand out is the usage of browns and greay in different fabrics such as tweed and leather. Then mix that with some white Uptowns and you have a look that can work just about anywhere.
The Sheila Files: Hudson, Eddie Murphy, and Forest Whitaker Take Home SAG Awards

The Screen Actors Guild gave out their awards this past weekend and it was no surprise that Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy took home statues. They both won for supporting-acting for their roles in “Dreamgirls.” And it looks like smmoth sailing for both when they hit the Oscars.
Forest Whitaker also won for his stunning role in “The Last King of Scotland.” He hands down has no competition for the Best Male Actor Oscar this year. He will surely win.

January 28th, 2007After watching this clip I can’t even believe that young girls would like these fools. If you are a parent please monitor the things that your teens listen to.
Pretty Rick should be ashamed of themselves and it’s clear that they have limited education and a limited vocabulary. If they can’t find anything descent to to talk about then they need to get off the stage and out of the music business. And don’t forget that Pretty Ricky is apart of the SCREAM tour in which our young kids are seeing them. I would hate to think that they are doing this type of show for our children.
Manna’s Takes Over Soul Food in Harlem

Manna’s, owned by Mrs. Betty Park and her family, has been a main stay in Harlem for a long time. Manna’s owns several restaurants in Harlem and now she is opening yet another spot on 125th st. If you haven’t been one of her spots then you need to know that it’s a soul food buffet filled with some really good items. Her Mac and Cheese is really good, she has some of the best Peach Cobbler, and I love the turkey. Manna’s also owns the seafood restaurant Pier 2112, which we reviewed on our site a few months back and didn’t like. So I’m curious to see what the Queen of Soul Food Buffets has to offer with her new location.
