Preliminary 2013 Wisconsin Public Library Service Data is now available. Library directors are asked to review their library's data and report any corrections to libraryreport@dpi.wi.gov.

Final Wisconsin data will be made available after review and acceptance of Wisconsin's 2013 public library data submission by IMLS (probably late August); however, the preliminary data may be useful for planning and comparison purposes, as well as for preliminary budget preparation. Other preliminary spreadsheets with data compiled at the county, system, and state level, will be available in July.

Final statistics for prior years are also available via the PDF and Excel links below. The Division no longer publishes a print version of Wisconsin Public Library Service Data.

The Public Library Development Team annually collects statistics from the state's public libraries. Excel files of the statistics for 1996-2012 are listed below. (Statistics for 2003 through 2010 are also available in PDF as noted.)

The Excel files of Wisconsin statistics include more than 115 data elements grouped by general categories. Most of the categories are further defined; for example, "collection" information includes volumes owned, added, A-V, and periodicals. Below are the general data elements.
