The ISES includes a wide range of demographic and outcome data needed to meet the ESEA report card and America Competes Act requirements at the state, district, and school levels. Districts will use Wisconsin student numbers (WSNs) instead of names to submit ISES data which will protect student privacy and facilitate consolidation of data collections over time. There may be changes to the detail over time as we work towards consolidation, but updates will be sent regularly.
| Step E: Summer 2007 | Step F: Summer 2008 | Step G: Summer 2009 | Step H: Summer 2010 |
| Step I: Summer 2011 | Step J: Summer 2012 | Step K: Summer 2013 | Step L: Summer 2014 |
Step L: Summer 2014.
- Review Educational Environment Classification for IDEA Eligible Students.
- Educational Environment will now display in the on-line ISES screens with both the code and the description. There are no changes to the code set or the description text.
- Review item 6 under ‘Answers to Questions about Economically Disadvantaged Status'.
- Economically Disadvantaged Status is required for EVERY student EVERY year regardless of whether a district is participating in NSLP under Provision 2 or a district or school is participating under CEP.
- For Foreign Exchange Students, review item 10 under ‘Answers to Questions about Exit Types’.
- This Exit Type guidance does NOT apply to all foreign exchange students, but only to a subset for which a district has evidence that the child is under a J-1 or J-2 type Visa. If Visa type is unknown, then the student should be submitted to the ISES collections as if they DO NOT have a J type Visa.
- Review the Fall Roster Schedule for ASPIRE, PALS, WKCE & ACCESS for ELLs(c).
- The roster file schedule for this fall is very aggressive with the introduction of the ASPIRE roster. Changes to the grade levels of the WCKE fall exam increase the need for accurate and complete grade level information within ISES 3rd Friday of September (CD) records prior to the 9/29 roster file creation. Review the Important Dates for the current ISES collections for specific dates.
- Review the new Attendance definition for State and Federal reporting:
- The definition of attendance has changed. All districts should report attendance for 2014-15 and beyond according to this definition for state reporting purposes. A summary of the prior attendance definition is available in item 12 under ‘Answers to Questions about Attendance’. Districts may report 2013-14 attendance under the new definition. Our focus is to help districts which have not been following DPI guidance for attendance to improve reporting for the 2014-15 school year.
