And after impressing for their club sides in recent weeks, Oliviero Fabiani and Alberto Lucchese have been brought in to bolster Brunel's ranks at both hooker and scrum-half with Martin Castrogiovanni suspended and Carlo Canna out injured.
The statement from the FIR read: "The head coach of Italian Rugby, Jacques Brunel, has invited Zebre hooker Oliviero Fabiani and Benetton Treviso scrum-half Alberto Lucchese, both uncapped, to take part in training in Rome that kicks off on Sunday for the final matches of the RBS 6 Nations 2016 against Ireland (Dublin, March 12) and Wales (Cardiff, March 19)."

Elsewhere, Tommaso Allan made his first start for Perpignan since returning from injury, scoring 23 points on Thursday evening which included seven penalties and a conversion.
The 22-year-old fly-half is not in the squad at the moment but could well come back in ahead of Italy's final game of the Championship in Wales.
