Born in the Czech Republic, 17-year-old Linda Fruhvirtova is one of the rising teenagers in the women’s game. She peaked at No 2 in the world junior rankings in December 2021 and already climbed to a career-best ranking of No 151 in August 2022. Fruhvirtova recorded the biggest wins of her young career, when she beat world No. 24 Elise Mertens and former world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka at the Miami Open earlier this year. At the recent US Open, she won three matches in qualifying to make her Grand Slam main draw debut and reached the second round.
