Despite its flaws, The Teal Mask DLC, with its fresh setting and intriguing side quests, amplifies the experience of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet—perfect for those seeking a return trip to the vibrant world of Paldea.
Exploring Kitakami is a lot of fun, and the story of this DLC is quite interesting. Besides, the new Pokémon and characters are charismatic, and the features added to the game are useful. For all that, it's a shame that the performance of the game still has so much room for improvement.
Ultimately, The Teal Mask isn’t going to change anyone’s mind about Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. If you were able to get past the technical flaws of the base games, you’ll probably enjoy yourself well enough here. The main story isn’t as good and there’s something lost with the more linear structure, but the photography is fun and the basic loop of Pokemon remains as entertaining as ever. We’ll have to see how the second part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero goes to make any final judgements, but for now this is really just for those who loved their time with Scarlet & Violet and want to keep the good times rolling.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask is set in a beautiful world rich with culture but suffers from some severe technical problems that hinder the experience. Interesting characters and new Pokémon make it worth checking out, but some minor technical updates would have made it significantly more enjoyable.
A fine story and the return of some old favorites can't mask what is a poorly coded, poorly optimized and poorly performs new area. They could have taken the time and effort to fix problems with this DLC, but instead they made some things worse.
The Teal Mask DLC was precisely what I assumed it would end up being: a small update that would take me a few hours at most to complete. While the quality of life changes are noticeable, it doesn’t make up for Scarlet & Violet’s pre-existing graphical issues, and the lack of new Pokemon leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I have higher hopes for the next DLC, the Indigo Disk, but it would’ve been nice if the same effort that’s going into the Indigo Disk was also put into the Teal Mask.
Looking good! Working Kitakami map Pokémon Scarlet DLC purchase already Pokedex all 200 Caught because battle passes Orgerpon legendary terastal forms the loyal three thank you so much!
This Dlc is much like the base game pretty underwelming. The new area is pretty empty and dull, with nothing much to see or to do. The whole area looks pretty empty, which is somewhat funny considering that the whole area is alot smaller than in the main game. Graphically it didn't improve and still looks like a game from 10 years ago. While i had no major bugs while playing the dlc, I had consistent framdrops and heavy lags. I also couldn't get hooked to the story and felt like it was written in the last 5 Minutes of development. For the new Pokemon.... I it's either like it or not i guess. For the whole SIX new Pokemon that they added, only liked one design wise, while the others felt like either really uncreative or, in the case of the legendary Pokemon, it felt like they were drawn by a 10 year old. They also added back some old Pokemon, which is fine i guess. The "scaling" which I was missing in the base game, is also really unnecessary. Because other than pushing the levels of wild Pokemon and Trainers, they didn't really "scale" alot in this dlc. Even with level 60, alot of trainers will still use base evolution Pokemons, which makes fighting them, like the dlc as a whole, a big waste of time.
The whole dlc takes about 5-7 hours which is also a bit short for it's pricetag of 35€. Even tho you get 2 dlc's at the time of this rewiew only one part is released.
In my opinion the dlc is absolutely not worth it, got no replayability and is much likely a heavy waste of your time and money. Other than some old Pokemon and some few new ones, you'll get pretty much nothing more than what could have been a big free update.
It's meh. Its short, but 'ok' for a DLC I guess. I only bought this to stream it for my audience, least the ad revenue paid for it, otherwise I would NEVER have bought it.
Only a handful of new Pokemon, the other 100 or so in the Pokedex are from past games for this region. The dialogue is as awful as ever. The games are made terribly poor with so many black screens, as bare minimum character animations such as one of the new side characters who is meant to be following you to each destination simply says: I'll meet you there and appears only when you get there. So cheap to have him run with you. FPS is as bad as I remember from the base game. Glitches, do I need go on? It's as if ZERO progress has been made since the release. They give you a selfie stick to capture photos even though the Rotom phone floats... like seriously... come on...
They did fix the box speed though so that's a plus. Music can be nice at times. Mini game is ok and some side story stuff. But boring new characters that add nothing to the overall game really. Main story is short and not compelling in the slightest, so weak. Legendaries are comical to look at. Why even bother anymore. Also the price point is ridiculous for this (yes its 2 parts), but its half the price of the base game and tiny in scope. I have zero hope for the next part. Do better. I DO NOT recommend buying this unless you are some super diehard fan. Its disappointing because the company can get away with it.
