Auch hier gibt es wieder 18 wunderbare Songs zu hören. Darunter "Born This Way" von Lady Gaga, "Dancing Queen" von Abba / Mamma Mia!

Zu den Gaststars zählen wieder Gwyneth Paltrow ("Turning Tables" - Fantastisch!), Kristin Chenoweth, bekannt aus dem Musical Wicked - Die Hexen von Oz, Jonathan Groff und Charice.

Leider fehlen mir auch hier wieder ein paar schöne Songs: "I love New York / New York, New York" und "For Good" beispielsweise. Die beiden Songs fehlen hier wirklich! Und wo von Charice die Rede war. Ihr Duett "Telephone" mit Lea Michele fehlte ebenfalls, aber bereits auf Vol.4. Schade.

    1. Turning Tables - Gwyneth Paltrow (Holly)

    2. I Feel Pretty / Unpretty - Lea Michele (Rachel) & Dianna Agron (Quinn)

    3. As If We Never Said Goodbye - Chris Colfer (Kurt)

    4. Born This Way - Amber Riley (Mercedes), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) & Chris Colfer (Kurt)

    5. Dreams - Kristin Chenoweth (April) & Matthew Morrison (Will)

    6. Songbird - Naya Rivera (Santana)

    7. Go Your Own Way - Lea Michele (Rachel)

    8. Don't Stop - Chord Overstreet (Sam), Dianna Agron (Quinn), Cory Monteith (Finn) & Lea Michele (Rachel)

    9. Rolling In The Deep - Jonathan Groff (Jesse) & Lea Michele (Rachel)

    10. Isn't She Lovely - Kevin McHale (Artie)

    11. Dancing Queen - Naya Rivera (Santana) & Amber Riley (Mercedes)

    12. Try A Little Tenderness - Amber Riley (Mercedes)

    13. My Man - Lea Michele (Rachel)

    14. Pure Imagination - Cory Monteith (Finn), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina), Chris Colfer (Kurt) & Kevin McHale (Artie)

    15. Bella Notte - Chord Overstreet (Sam), Mark Salling (Puck), Kevin McHale (Artie)

    16. As Long As You're There - Charice (Sunshine)

    17. Pretending - Lea Michele (Rachel) & Cory Monteith (Finn)

    18. Light Up The World - Cory Monteith (Finn), Lea Michele (Rachel), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina), Kevin McHale (Artie), Naya Rivera (Santana) & Heather Morris (Brittany)

While Vol. 5 of Glee The Music stood out from being all upbeat and contemporary, Vol. 6 takes the total opposite turn. In a way, this is also a reflection of the final episodes of Season 2, which focused much more on showcasing the cast's vocal talent and simply turned it down on modern hits in favor for the more diverse formula we've grown to love from the series which includes ballads, showtunes, top 40 and classic rock. And you want to throw in original songs in there now since Glee is now doing that as well. Chris Colfer, Lea Michele, Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, Kevin Mchale, Mark Salling, Charice, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristen Chenoweth, Jonathan Groff... all these big names get their solos and you really don't want to miss them. They all kill it.

I sure feel this is the best Glee cd so far. It's not made to be "fun" like Vol. 5, its mostly made to be an enjoyable laid-back listen... an experience for your ears. And surprisingly, the songs seem to fit together perfectly well, which is not easy to do on a Glee CD. Thats always a good thing. This album also features 3 original songs which, in my opinion, are even better than the original songs in Vol. 5., and sort of give more of a balanced and modern 'idol' sound that you'd expect from a FOX show.

Overall, this must be the best Glee cd so far. There's something for everyone here: Fleetwood Mac, Lady Gaga, Adele, ABBA.. hell even some Willy Wonka. There's just pure talent here and this is how a Glee season should wrap up. Fans, go for it. Non-fans of Glee, listen to the previews and be the judges.
