Castle - Season 1

I've been meaning to watch Castle for a few months now after many recommendations by friends and family, but never quite got around to it. That is, until now. First thing i need to say about this series is that season one is a half season, a grand total of 10 episodes overall. I didnt realise this until after i'd already bought the series, but despite its short length its still strong and compelling.

Castle is a top-rated crime/thriller writer with a rather quirky personality and childish curiosity, so when someone starts staging murder scenes using his books as inspiration he just has to know why. Naturally the police involve him and so Castle meets Beckett - our leading lady with a take no crap attitude and what seems to be an immunity to Castles constant flirtations. Naturally Castle cant resist and there the story is born - with Castle writing a new series of novels using Beckett as inspiration for his leading character - and of course this means research which involves castle following Beckett around as she solves murder cases.

I must admit i find this series to be hilarious, refereshing and interesting overall. Whether you watch for the crime solving angle or the humor you're sure to enjoy yourself. And for those interested in the softer dramatic side of things, there is most definitely a building chemistry between the two lead characters.

ROll on season 2 :P

I immediately loved the movie after I watched the trailer. It promised to be fun and with a lot of witty dialogues between the two main characters – Kate Beckett (a detective) and Richard Castle (a writer of crime). Detective Beckett is portrayed as a strong woman, focused on her cases with little patience for chatter, while Rick Castle is more or less her opposite. He is creative, extravagant and who is addicted to chatter yet he offers great insights into the criminal’s motives, which makes him valuable partner to Detective Beckett. I would describe the movie as fun, light-hearted and it has interesting twists and turns on the crime cases the duo works on.

By jimminey I wanted to like it. What's not to like? It's essentially 'House' but in a crime fighting setting. It's a good premise, it's a good cast, I just couldn't get into it.

Fair enough Nathan Fillion (Castle) gets in some really funny lines and just about manages to keep the show's head above water, but the rest of it was just so pedestrian. I could have been watching any number of shows that crop up on a Tuesday afternoon on BBC2 as filler when the snooker ends too soon.

It was okay. Three stars. I won't be breaking any records to buy season two.

Castle is a series that grows on you. It is understandable to be sceptical about the plot but it is not to be taken seriously and is very tongue in cheek for a crime series. The best part about the series is the characters on screen chemistry. Not only that of Castle and Beckett but Esposito and Ryan as secondary characters. Usually a crime series isn't worth keeping as a collection but due to the characters chemistry and light-hearted aspect, it is possible to enjoy an episode repeatedly. All in all the writing is very good and there are many entertaining themes to enjoy based on classical literature and folklore!

Enjoyed all the series so far and was looking forward to the re-runs on Saturdays but they have started with Season 3 ?????. Doh! Where's the sense in that? Wanted to watch again from the begining hence the purchase and we are both enjoying them all over again including some we seem to have missed 1st time round. A great police detective series, with quirky characters including the main ones of Kate Beckett, (police) and Castle (shadowing writer) who solve a different murder each episode. Sub plots running through giving us a deeper glimpse of all the characters lives and relationships. Humourous dialogue with no bad language, and despite some gory murders there is little violence and bloody scenes. Always finishes on an 'upbeat' note. A great buy!!

Very disapointed in this purchase 1st disc ok 2nd disc 1st and second episode kept breaking up unable to watch

Had to fast forward to continue with story which is not ideal, dread to think what the third disc will do,

I was going to purchase further discs of the series but after seeing the quality of this purchase I will not bother.

A dissatisfied customer.

I absolutely love Castle, and this started after I saw the first episode about 6 months ago. It had been one of those things that I noticed was around, but never got round to watching it. The stories are fantastically different from anything else I've watched on tv which keeps me interested, but with just enough familiarity of solid lead characters who are feisty and play off each other brilliantly. Add in a great supporting cast, and you've got a perfect way to spend a few hours being entertained without getting bored.

Castle is one of the best shows on tv. It mixes drama and comedy effortlessly. Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic and the rest of the cast are outstanding. Nathan plays Richard Castle, a writer who meets NY cop Kate Beckett when she investigates murders identical to the ones he writes. Their push/pull relationship is great from the start, she doesn't want him around but he starts to grow on her as the season goes on. Nathan and Stana's chemistry really shines in later seasons but it's evident from the first episode.

I could not read the dvd. The region format was not specified. Unhappy

Meine Meinung:

Diese Serie ist der absolute Hammer! Sie ist witzig, spannend, romantisch. Alles, was das Herz begehrt.
