  • AI literacy begins with a question students can investigate: Where am I already encountering AI? For Digital Citizenship Week, Learning.com and #HalfTheStory are sharing five free, printable activities for educators. Today’s AI IQ test uses a quiz and discussion prompts to help students test their general knowledge on artificial intelligence. The activity comes in younger and older versions and can be completed offline. An optional AI extension lets older students test their thinking with a tool afterward. ➡️ Download Monday’s activity through the link in the comments. #DigitalCitizenship #AILiteracy #EdTech

  • Have you heard the news? 👀 Last week, #HalfTheStory announced a five-year commitment to mobilize 10 million people to ensure teens have a seat at the table shaping AI. 🚀 We saw what happened when young people weren't at the table when decisions were being made about social media. Now, it's a not a question of whether AI will shape the next generation, but whether young people will have the skills, agency, and opportunities to help shape what comes next. #HalfTheStory is inviting values-aligned, bold funding partners to join our vision of a world where young people shape technology, not the other way around. Are you with us? 🤝 Donate now through the link in comments.

I still can't fully put into words what it felt like to sit at the Clinton Global InitiativeClinton Global Initiative and be part of a conversation about digital wellness and teens having a real seat at the table. I was invited to share my story as part of the first Teen Tech Council in New York, and to talk about the work I've been building with my school's wellness center and guidance department around digital wellbeing. Walking in, I kept thinking about how far this journey has taken me. From being a kid who was just handed a device with no idea how to navigate it, to standing in a room with people who are actually shaping policy and technology. I spoke about what it means to build something instead of just inheriting a broken system. And I meant every word. In the middle of it all, I got to spend this moment with the amazing Larz May , whose belief in teens having a voice is the reason so many of us are even in these rooms in the first place. Thank you to everyone who helped me get here and who I got to share this experience with. The mentors, the friends, the people who took a chance on a 16-year-old with a lot to say. I am beyond grateful. Lukas Druckenmiller Daniella Ivanir Emily Muniz Victoria Kiss Carter Bell

  • Yesterday at the Clinton Global Initiative, we made it official. 🤝 On stage, in front of a room full of some of the world's most influential voices across policy, philanthropy, and entertainment, #HalfTheStory's founder Larz May and #HalfTheStory teens, Olivia Howard, Lukas Druckenmiller, and Koko Kiyota, announced our Commitment to Action: to mobilize 10 million people by 2031 to put teens at the center of AI's future. This began with an idea and Secretary Hillary Clinton made it possible and actionable. Her yes was more than support. It was a commitment to the belief that young people deserve not just to be heard, but to help shape the future. From New York with Governor Kathy Hochul to California with First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, that spark is now becoming national infrastructure for youth voices. For the last 11 years, #HalfTheStory’s vision has always been to create a world where young people shape technology, not the other way around. Our next chapter is all about continuing to uplift youth voices, strengthen digital wellbeing, and build stronger bridges between credentialed youth leaders and the decision-makers shaping technology, policy, and culture. Now, we're investing in the national expansion of the Teen Tech Council, #HalfTheStory's youth leadership initiative designed to help young people build healthier relationships with tech and play an active role in shaping the digital world around them. Bans are only the starting line. We are in the business of helping youth flourish. 🌱 We're ready to turn the moment from #CGI2026 into action. In this next phase, #HalfTheStory is inviting funders, schools, youth-serving organizations, and public-sector leaders to put young people at the center of tech and AI policy. Are you in? 🚀 📸: Kristen Blush

  • Schools are cutting out screens left and right, but what are they replacing it with? 📵 Our founder Larz May shared her POV in Scientific American in a recent story covering screens in schools.  TL;DR: It's going to take more than a blanket ban on technology to improve students' wellbeing and learning outcomes. 🌱 🚀 That's exactly why we created the Teen Tech Council model - for policymakers, educators, and students to work together and co-create solutions that actually work for youth.  We started in New York and now we're expanding to California. 👀 Full story in the comments.  #HalfTheStory #Teens #DigitalWellbeing #ScreenFreeFun

Investing in youth means investing in places where young people can belong, build relationships, try something new and spend time together in real life.  The Meta settlement creates a chance to invest in what young people can plug into next, making more of this possible. Lukas Druckenmiller, a NY Teen Tech Council Member with #HalfTheStory, put it beautifully: “You’re plugging into connection. You’re plugging into new opportunities to meet new people, to see the world in new ways.” That shift is crucial. Helping young people build healthier relationships with technology is not only about what they disconnect from. It is about what we make available in its place. More connection. More belonging. More opportunities to explore, create and spend time together IRL. That is what Fund IRL is working to help make possible. We want to hear more from young people. What do you want to plug into IRL? What spaces, experiences and opportunities would make a difference in your life and your community? Share your perspective with us—and help us bring more youth voices into the conversation. Learn more and find resources for sharing the Fund IRL message: https://lnkd.in/eT78HwB9.
