Lisa Maria DiSalvo spent her summer internship at Adobe Research exploring how AI could help artists move through creative blocks without taking control of the creative process. As a PhD student in Human-Computer Interaction at Columbia University and a GEM Fellow, Lisa researched agentic illustrations, exploring how AI could suggest new directions to sketch artists while giving them the freedom to remix, modify or reject those suggestions. One of her proudest moments came when her mom visited Adobe’s San Jose office. “For her to see those sorts of spaces and see that her daughter is there, and her daughter is leading meetings, and her daughter is a scientist, is just very important.” Interested in spending a summer at Adobe Research?
